A good, smoky porter. Dark chocolate, coffee, and wine. A good introductory porter and a good beer in general.
Very dark, fairly flat pour - black with hints of red. Aroma is milk chocolate, cherry, oak. Taste is chocolate, leafy hop, cherry, smoky wood finish. Enjoyable and drinkable. mikkopen (1155) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 15, 2017
650 ml bottle. Black, with a thin tan head. Roasted malty aroma with sweetish licorice and chocolate, smoke, and notes of coffee. The flavour is very much on the same lines as the aroma, sweetish, roasted and smoky, with fruity notes, and a moderately bitter finish. Tasty, but would be even better if it was a bit drier. samzim (424) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 3, 2017
Aroma of molasses and espresso. Near-black colour. Mocha front with a bitter, nutty finish. Heavy body with low carbonation. Very tasty brew. Tranquillity (2251) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 30, 2016
Bottled. Completely black body, even beige head. The aroma isn’t strong but it’s balanced. The taste is smoky and fruity and the finish is sweet. a_sully (457) - - OCT 21, 2016

650ml bottle. Dark brown with a foamy beige head. Flavors are light smoke, roasted cereals, ash, marshmallows, maple and earth with fruity, woodsy and metallic notes. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth texture. punkska101 (1998) - Chambly, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 18, 2016
Bottle shared with dad A: chocolate, light licorice, molasses, a touch of smoke, brown sugar, earthy hops App: dark brown border brown smallish beige head. T/p: med body with short to moderate long bitter finish. Soft to moderate carbonation. O: a little too sweet for my liking for the style. Smoke is barely noticeable, it’s perfectly balanced for me. Good. crazy_cat_lady (536) - - SEP 7, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2016 Bottle in Brew Box. Very dark with light brown head. Smells like almost burnt toast, caramel, some cola. Quite strong Smokey flavour with some almost burnt toast. Someone else mentioned flat cola and that fits some of what I taste (I like flat pop sometimes). Not very bubbly, rather flat. A bit sweet for a porter, and lacks the biscuit and bitterness of a typical porter. Not bad, but a bit off for the style. Kauge (1928) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 12, 2016
Bottle from LCBO. BB Jul 2016. Pours dark brown with smallish light tan head. The aroma’s rather sweet, molasses, syrup, chocolate fudge, and only then some hinting smoky notes and a bit of roastiness. Tastes very sweet, excessively even, fudgy, and the roast and smokiness is in the background. The flat cola mentioned below is spot on. Very modest carbonation, dryish on the palate, abrupt and hollow in the finish. Not what I was expecting - too sweet, and the smokiness is really too mild in this one. Taste: tad too sweet, brown sugars, caramel with smoke, Flat cola in the mid. Bitter walls.
other notes if you consider what aroma presented you might be tad disappointed with its flavor.
