A very nice beer. Not great, but not bad either. I like Scottish ales, but this one is a little lighter and less alcohol than I usually like. But still good.
Bottled. Extremely lively. The body is clear brown with a huge beige head. The aroma has licorice, malt, corn and caramel. The taste is licorice and not as sweet. ChadPoole (478) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 5, 2016
Pours reddish brown with a tanned head. Aroma is carmel and toasted malt. Coffee and nuts flavour with a medium body and decent carbination. Enjoyable. Ferris (15288) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 17, 2015
Draft - Toffee and some twig. Clearish Amber with a decent white head. Lots of caramel and soft grains with a touch of cocoa. Solid. HippyHop (656) - Quebec, CANADA - JUL 2, 2015
This bottle is "past date" but I don’t see how that’s possible. Anyhoo, judging by the ratings below, my experience wasn’t much different than those who tried a fresher bottle. Caramel, toasted grain, straw, light spiciness, fairly watery. Slightly dry finish with a hint of bitterness. It’s not terrible, it’s just kind of blah. 650 ml bottle from the LCBO.
Appearance: Pours a clear deep brown with almost a finger of white head. Minimal retention and little lacing.
Aroma: Malt, biscuit and something I can’t quite identify that is throwing things off.
Flavours: Malt, straw, bit of caramel.
Mouthfeel: Thin with moderate carbonation.
Overall: The aroma wasn’t that great on this one but the flavours were okay. Everything seemed muted and subdued without any real character. Not much more to say.

I had this beer a while back and it was one of the worst beers I ever had. I’m not sure if they changed the recipe but this is actually pretty respectable and have no problem drinking more of this. MrHangover (4555) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2014
Bottle @ THT November. Pours a clear brown beer with a very small off white head on top. Aroma of sugar, caramel and slightly herbal. Flavor is thin, sweet and chocolately. Quite boring and thin, watery moutfheel. Not very interesting. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - NOV 28, 2014
Bottle @ tht. Aroma is huge caramel, light liquorice, some fruity notes. Flavour is sweet malty caramel, full and creamy. Nice, but you must like sweet. JulienHuxley (5809) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 28, 2014
Bottle at THT. Clear copper pour. Aroma is sweet, fruity, biscuity notes. Taste is very sweet, brown sugar, malty. Palate is med bodied, light carbonation. Meh. Benzai (15608) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - NOV 28, 2014
Sampled from bottle @ THT November. Clear amber color, small off-white head. Aroma is pretty grainy, don’t get anything else. Tastes very malty and grainy as well with a slight hint of sweetness and nuts. Average body and carbonation. I don’t like it.
