On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a medium sized white head. Malt on the nose, toast, a touch of fruit. Medium bodied, soft malt and a bit of fruit. Toast, slow and toasty, malt into the finish, light fruit sweetness. Gentle and easy.

On tap, nice dark mahogany pour with a finger of tan head. Lacing evident through the entire pint, and head retention was excellent. Good malty taste with a nice hoppy finish that wasn’t too bitter. Excellent beer. stevoj (5567) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 3, 2013

on tap-pours a rich tan head that laces and brown color. Aroma is rich/sweet medium malt-toffee/brown sugar. Taste is rich/sweet medium malt-toffee/brown sugar, secondary earthy. douglas88 (9625) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 18, 2010
On tap at the brewpub in Boise. Pours a dark amber with a very small white head around the rim of the glass. A rich roasted malt nose with light spicy hops. The flavor is nice; earthy, lightly roasted malts, a sweet spicy hop bite. A lot darker than your average Amber Ale. More like a brown ale. Nice. 2/5/09 On draft at the brewpub. Aroma is dark fruit forward with rich molasses, but somehow not alcoholic. Hop flora is quite low. Appearance is hazy brown with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is molasses forward with roast caramel and low sour bittering, possibly english hops. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a moderate carb texture. It’s very unique, I couldn’t call it an amber, but don’t know where I’d place it.

On Tap at the brewpub. Very dark amber. More like a bock. Very nice full sandy colored head. PLenty of long lasting lacing. Aroma is dark, woody, with roasted malts and only slight bitterness. Flavor was similar, again, quite dark for the stlye. A robust, heavy amber that has a nice hop/malt profile. Tasty.
