Nitro tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with ruby glow, velvety smooth creamy head. Body not overly thick and chewy, but fairly slick. Roasty flavor without being overly bitter. Appearance and feel GI a long way with this brew stchloe (1067) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Smokey but not overly hammy, very nice roasted barley malt body with a subtle char in the finish which leaves the pleasant smokey finish. Mother approved. ditmier (1508) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAY 31, 2010
Draught @ Highland Hollow - Pours opaque and dk dk brown with a medium dk tan head...aroma is roasty and chocolatey, burnt wood and dk malt...flavour is similar, rich and smooth, nice burnt bitterness and roastiness, cocoa and charcoal...pretty solid stout! oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 10, 2010
On tap at the brewpub w/Gyruke. Deep dark black color with a creamy brown head. The flavor is everything the aroma promises and more, with its thick roasted malt/chocolate flavors. Very Good

on tap-pours a light brown head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty/ashy, secondary earthy hops. Taste is rich dark malt-chocolate/molasses/roasty, secondary earthy hops. OK carbonation [more porter level carb and hops] nice, full body. douglas88 (9178) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 18, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a pure black color with a medium white head. A strong roasted malt nose, light sweeter chocolates. The flavor is dominated by a nice aggressive roasted flavor, dry and quite nice. Enjoyable, I could drink a ton of this. Sledutah (7530) - Utah, USA - JAN 17, 2010
On tap at the brewpub Bradrcr (806) - Renton, Washington, USA - APR 27, 2008
Appearance: Black with a nice tan head
Aroma: Roasted malts, smokey, chocolate
Taste: Very smooth on the palate.
3/7/08 on draught at the brewpub. Aroma is strong olive note from roast malts (not smoked, although it does have characteristics), followed by sweetness and no hop characteristics. Appearance is nearly black with a moderate off white head. Flavor is sour toasted malts forward followed by sweetness and a great cream character, blending characteristics of cream, dry and American stouts. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a moderate graininess and sour roast finish. Overall, fairly good with nice complexity and blending of styles into something that never comes across as quite an aberration.

Deep black color, with dark ruby highlights. Creamy off-white head. Roasted, burnt coffee aroma. Sweet creaminess, not too heavy or bitter. Flavors of chocolate and bitter roasted coffee. Very drinkable for a stout, somewhere between a dry stout and an Imperial Stout.
