Appearance: Dark amber with a small off white head
Aroma: Caramel, grapefruit, flowery
A nice beer you could drink a few pints of.
Tap @ Bittercreek - Pours an opaque orange with a small off white head...aroma is grapefruity and resinous hops and caramel malt...flavour is the same, dry dark malt and hops, slight frutiness...pretty nice, nothing too crazy going on here, but enjoyable... Full, thick tan head. Clear, dark orange appearance. Fragrant bouquet of flowery-citrusy hops. A blast of hops and thick mouthfeel greets the first sip. A large amount of caramel malt(s) leads to a sweet backbone. Bitter after-taste lingers a bit. An all-around great beer. jarspag (601) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 21, 2008
On tap at the brewpub with the cousin. Looks a lot more like an amber ale/winter ale type brew. Decent caramel malt backbone with its fair share of lovely resiny pine hops. Good brew and about the amount of flavor you’d expect for sub 6 abv.
