3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
1906 Reserva Especial has a thin, white, soapy head, a hazy, orange-golden appearance, lots of little orange chunks floating about, some streaming bubbles, and a decent amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is bold and rich. One picks up medium-roasted barley malt, some alcohol sweetness, and brown bread. Taste is of all those, plus some bread crust, a slight hop bitterness, and even a fruitiness (figs?). Mouthfeel is medium, and 1906 Reserva Especial finishes mostly dry, fairly refreshing, bold, and strong. This is more of a sipper, really. Overall, I think it’s a really delicious beer. RJT
Bottle with friends. Not badly balanced, quite pleasant. Aromas and tastes are downplayed to ensure drinkability and mass likeability while still retaining some of that craft idea factor. RobertDale (6393) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JUN 14, 2017

Aroma is the weakest point without doubt; regarding taste and appearance, I just can say is one of the best beers in Spain nowadays.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2017 Aroma: Toasted cereals and hay.
Appearance: Ambar color with clear liquid and white head.
Taste: Light sweetness with medium bitter notes.
Palate: Medium body with thin texture with an average carbonation. Bitter finish with wooden notes.
Overall: It is not a bad beer but it can not compete with international beers of the same style and it can’t compete with artisans beer either. LaPelos (37) - Madrid, SPAIN - JAN 18, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2017 Una buena cerveza para tomar a diario, con un sabor fuerte y ligeramente amargo. PorterPounder (7898) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 1, 2017
Labeled as 1906 Reserva Especial. Sparkling, medium amber pour, slight off-white head. Slightly sweet caramel like aroma, slight hard candy notes. Flavor has some nuttiness, a bit of caramel sweetness, some dates and raisin sweetness. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Thanks to Aurelius for picking me up one of these! Clear, light chestnut tan brew, whitish head. Embossed 330 mil brown bottle, noticable but bad label. Slightly candied, straw malt aroma with molasses, toffee or other dark sugars. A little bit of sorghum-style twang on a toasted malt body, light straw, lightly bittered, some dubbel-dark notes. Medium body. Only fair. ABC Liquors, Betton.
