The second of the Belfast Quarter Beers is a rich warming, premium beer. A classic red Irish ale with a full bodied flavour. The area Belfast knows today as the Cathedral Quarter is based largely around St. Annes Cathedral. Before its modern re-invention, the area was best known as a trade and warehousing district. With the decline of Belfasts traditional industries, arts and cultural organisations took the opportunity to establish themselves in the area. Today the area continues to revitalise, placing itself at the centre of Belfasts social and cultural scene.

Clear amber-coloured beer with a frothy head and aroma of caramel and floral hop. Its lively on the tongue with a hit of spicy sweetness up front and the finish is bitter but a touch flat. Has a nice body to it though.

Lightly hazed light amber color. Taller, diminishing bubbly head. Malthouse lightly toasted malt aromas. Hints of floral hops. Fit the bill of an Irish red so far. Thinner feel with a small tingling eff. Light sweet toasted malt in the front. Touch of bitterness builds with a floral component. A little to much carbonation for me. Some earthy malt and hints of tobacco in the finish and into the linger. Solid. 6/10

To be fair, this bottle was a little past its best-before. It poured amber-brown with little head and aromas of toffee malt and faintly of lemon. Body is caramel and earthy, with hints of sultana and redcurrant, and a surprisingly refreshing distant citric tang.

Dorada miel, rojiza con un par de dedos de espuma. Aroma lupulado floral. El Sabor continua el aroma, con cuerpo moderado y carbonatacion media pero presente siempre. En cualquier caso, no es gran cosa.

No real aroma, unfermented malt, odd flavors linger. Looks great and well packaged, but disappointed overall.
