COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aaron A. Hill (1786-1869) was our great-great-great grandfather who operated the original tavern in North Greensboro- an industrious, inventive and indomitable figure in the community. The Hill Farmstead Brewery logo is based upon the tavern's original sign. In his honor, we crafted this barleywine at the outset of our venture. It has rested, unhurriedly and undisturbed, for over 2 years in bourbon barrels from some of our favorite distilleries, absorbing the essence of its surroundings and history. Bottle conditioned for 5 months.

BlazerT (1351) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - FEB 12, 2018
Słodkie, wyklejające. W tle mnóstwo ciemnych, suszonych owoców - figi, daktyle, poza tym karmel i wanilia. Beczka wręcz genialna. Doskonale ułożone, pijalne, ciało aksamitne, gładkie, ABV może lekko wyczuwalny.

Bottle from the brewery; shared by Andrew with Brendan and Paul. Pours a deep blackish brown body with thin tan lace. Earthy and wood on the nose. Mouthfeel is full bodied with notes of rich molasses, honey, bourbon, earth and sweet chocolate dessert. A bit reminiscent of Lost Abbey Angel Share.

Pours deep mahogany with low light tan head. Aroma of hazelnut, raisins and corinthians, dried dates and figs, light chocolate, mellow bourbon, light vanilla, super complex, super balanced, just perfect! Taste is OH MY GOD this beyond words good, this opens mellow sweet, balanced, dried fruit, then bourbon kicks in and you get a bit of that fieriness, then the vanilla takes over in the finish, and you end up with this velvety smooth mouthfeel. Absolutely gorgeous! Medium bodied, smooth as silk, soft to average carbonation. This is by far the best barley wine I've ever had, and right up there with the best beers ever.

Znakomity trunek!

Johnsense (1822) - - JAN 1, 2018
Deep brown pour, reddish hues, smaller offwhite head that bubbles out, lighter carbonation. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, toffee, vanilla, whiskey - just fantastic. Sweet caramel up front, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, slight fruit. Medium body with low carbonation, no alcohol heat whatsoever. I didnt want this bottle to end.

Bottle from the source. Dark reddish brown with ring. Woody boozy caramel cherry vanilla light smoke and straight-up alcohol aroma. Very sweet roasted caramel ripe cherry vanilla with medium light woody earthy herbal bitterness in long boozy finish. Full body with low fine internal carbo. A very complex very boozy sipper. Excellent. But I'm a hick; I still prefer Bigfoot.

Boutip (6664) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 23, 2017
Bottle: Poured a cloudy brown color ale with a nice dark white foamy head. Aroma of caramelized malt with residual sugar notes and nice bourbon and oak notes. Taste is also a nice mix of caramelized malt notes with some bourbon and vanilla notes, light residual sugar notes with nice oak finish. Body is full with good carbonation with smooth warming alcohol notes. Incredibly well-balanced with super great level of complexity and drinkablity.

rejtable (2915) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 18, 2017
Bottle from Fraser at 2017 Xmas gathering. Pours dark brown some head and some lacing. Notes of coffee, bourbon, vanilla. Flavours of coffee, bourbon, vanilla, leather, syrup. Taste big sweet, big bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation. Beauty.
