COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abner (1867-1953) is our great grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his fourteen children. In his honor, this Double IPA is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Abners well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and double dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, bursting with notes of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Abner.

Cloudy orange. Starts off with lots of mango and pineapple than transitions to orange juice and pine. I love the transition on the palate. So good. Another home run from ThePatrickMan.

Pours a cloudy bright orange that fades to yellow with thick white head. A strong citrus hop, floral, pine and tropical fruit aroma. A strong citrus hop bomb taste with floral, pine and light tropical fruit flavors. A lingering sweet citrus and bitter hoo aftertaste. A smooth and balanced flavor.

Pours a bright hazy golden yellow color. The color is simply amazing one of the best looking beers I have seen. The head is medium white. Pretty strong citrus nose, mostly tangerine and grapefruit. Cantaloupes, peaches and other tropical fruits. Full smooth body. It is unlike any other beer I tasted. It is at first pretty sweet and then it the lingering hoppyness its for a first wave, then you get a second lingering dry hops finish. But its not overwhelming it just lasts forever. As a homebrewer I have a hard time understanding how they can make such different waves of flavors. Its so well balanced.

Yields a completely hazed yellow-golden mango pulp color with a fluffy, stable white head. Smells of a very intriguing hop plethora, with just the lightest note of cakey malts, perfectly complimenting to the orange quality of the hops. Also packs lime zest, wet grass a hint of dried blueberries and fresh fallen leaves. Has a fantastic smooth, fuller bodied mouthfeel with a lively finish, never loosing any of its softness on the tongue. While turning remarkably dry, especially during the finish, the beer stays in perfect balance throughout, due to light white bread malts. Shines from the very first moment by its world class mouthfeel, which is incredibly creamy and soft, slowly inviting fruity hops to the palate. Lemon pulp, orange peel and some unripe mango get amped up by a pleasant, adapting onion sharpness and soothing wet grass. Its only indication that this is an 8 abv beer is its doughy malt balance, which gets recognizable by rounding out the hop melange, providing just a hint of sweet maltiness - the beer drinks incredibly easy. Looses its fruitiness during late mid palate, slowly getting replaced by more silkness and an intense, long lasting lemon and leaf dryness, producing a short, earthy ginger peak. Very impressive double ipa, gaining much of its greatness from the incredibly silk mouthfeel, while its perfectly hop composition does the rest. Awesome how this develops on the palate, turns from fruity to herbal to dry - always soothed by soft malts, very well pronounced and clean.

On tap at Fools Gold. It pours a somewhat hazy orange color with a creamy off white head. The aroma has peaches, melon with a little grapefruit and passionfruit. Really fruit forward with a hint of flowers and honey-like maltiness. Maybe a touch of cookie. The flavor has massive peach and passionfruit with strong flowery bitterness. Hints of honey and cookie-like malts, but their supportive and dont interfere with the hop character. A really nice IIPA.

Thanks Adam! Pours a dull and muddy peach colour. Soft white head. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, malts. Very fresh tasting double IPA. Very drinkable for the ABV. Flavours are all citrus and pine needles. Green and floral. A great hoppy citrus bite at the end with notes of fresh Florida oranges throughout. Fantastic brew!

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2016 Pours a hazy reddish orange color with a foam head that laces my glass. The aroma is of citrus, floral, and earthy hops. I noticed notes of straw and sweet malted grains behind the hop scents. Tasting I enjoyed the mild bitterness that creeps up and lightly lingers into the finish of this beer. The flavor is balanced very well. The sweetness blends well with the bitterness. There was a good earthy hop and citrus flavors. Overall this was a very good drinkable and flavorful beverage.

Tap into a goblet showing unfiltered opaque orange with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows intense and juicy sweet blood oranges with a light citric edge. The palate is full bodied and smooth but fully carbonated. Flavors of concentrated orange, grapefruit, and light kiwi. Mid-palate shows a subtle grainy malt edge but mostly fruit. Strong grapefruit bitterness with a big grainy malt aftertaste. A big IIPA.
