COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arthur (1922-2005) was our grandfather’s youngest brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Saison is crafted from American malted barley, American and European hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Arthur. 6% Alc/Vol 13ºPlato

750ml bottle. Cloudy yellow. Lots of white foam. Aroma is lemon zest, floral, grassy. Delicate but powerful and satisfying. Taste is not excessively dry, as I thought it might be. There is a slight sweetness here. Not quite as good as I was hoping it might be but displays HF’s usual class and balance.

Thank you so much b3shine for this generous gift. I am forever in your debt. This beer just screams simplicity, elegance, and sophistication. Pours a nice lemon yellow with crazy mountains of pillow soft white head. Aromas are sweet Belgian yeast and juicy pineapple. A beautiful sour edge to this.. Funk, white wine, Belgian candy, such a good saison.

Bottle Share: Hazy golden hue and okay fluffly head. Notes of lemon, slight barnyard, biscuit, herbs, touch of pine and citrus and some minerally earth tones. I nice Saison but I must say I hoped to be floored and that did not happen.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2016 Poured into a taster glass showing cloudy straw yellow with a finger of fluffy clean white foam. The nose shows slight bretty and lemon notes with a farmhouse background. The palate is light bodied, moderately but sharply tart, highly carbonated with flavors of lemon zest and very little farmhouse flavor. There’s a slight spice on the palate and a pilsner-like bitterness at the end.

Bottle shared with my wife sent to me from Tom10101, thanks man! Yellow hazy colour with lively white head. Aroma is tart citrus funk, white grapes, and grass. Taste is lemon zest, followed by light funk, then a citrus lemongrass burst. Finishes dry, medium mouthfeel, plenty of carbonation. Fantastic stuff, tons of juicy citrus flavour, very refreshing and a pleasure to drink.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light straw coloured with a bright green reflection and a frothy white head. Noses lightly of barnyard/cellar, green apple lightly floral and wet fresh green grass. Softly carbonated/light effervescent and light bodied.Well pronounced green fruit acidity with some sweet underpinning and a clear hop bitterness. Medium-long dry finish.
