Arthur (1922-2005) was our grandfather’s youngest brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Saison is crafted from American malted barley, American and European hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Arthur. 6% Alc/Vol 13ºPlato

Bottle. Pours a straw yellow with a foamy head. Slightly sour with good carbonation and earthy tones. Saisons aren’t my favorite style, but this one was decent.

salvaticas (836) - - AUG 13, 2017
Bottle pour. Pours a slightly cloudy golden amber. Beautiful crisp and light aroma, fresh cut grass, citrus, ocean. Awesome. Light bodied, a little weak. Medium sour flavor. Smooth finish, tiny bite. Great.

Alluring tart aroma in a hazy yellow gold pour. Similarly tart taste with just a hint of spiciness in the body is both laid back and spot on. A deserved benchmark of the style.

cloudy straw yellow color. Bright white head that falls to a thin collar. Spotty lacing. Nose is citrus, funk, dough. Taste is pretty similar. A little more bread forward than citrus I though. Bright and zesty carbonation. Solid farmhouse

Bottle, Saison #200, gusher, many thanks to Koelschtrinker, and derA and anstei as well! Aroma is dough, hops, soapy, lots of body. Taste is spicy, dough, flowery, slightly lieblich finish, very complex. Overcarbonated, but great Saison!

FinnIckler (569) - GERMANY - JUL 28, 2017
Bottle. Pours hazy orange, medium fast depleting head. Nose is orange, floral, a bit soapy, citrus, apricot. Palate is orange, citrus, zesty lime, zesty finish. Very good, but not excellent.

anstei (2358) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - JUL 28, 2017
Bottle, courtesy of Koelschtrinker, many thanks! Pours cloudy paleish amber with a big head. Aroma is very yeasty saison, not phenolic but herbal and floral. Body is medium, earthy, mineralic, but also hoppy. Complex, but still pleasant to drink. Great!

Ritzn (1534) - GERMANY - JUL 28, 2017
Hazy golden with little white head. Aroma is grapes, hoppy, flower, citrus pips, yeast funk, toast. Taste is fresh sour with intensely bitter almost gueuze like. Mealy on the tongue. Pretty harsh. Not smooth. A bit spicy. Meh.

omgsrslyshaun (10) - - JUL 19, 2017
Beautiful straw gold. Hay, lemon, mild tartness. Soft mouthfeel. 50% on the mouth swish. OMG Srsly Shaun?
