Civil Disobedience, our non-violent protest against the homogenization of flavor, comes in the form of a spontaneous, circumstantial, and unpredictable series of beer releases. We relinquish control in favor of an anarchistic collaboration of microbial activity. This is the expression of our conscience, our opposition to oppression, and an act of creative freedom. Civil Disobedience (1849), Henry David Thoreau’s moral call to action, is a perennial challenge against the contemporary sopor of individual political conscience... "It is not too soon for honest men to rebel and revolutionize." Question. Act. Evolve... Civil Disobedience #1: A blend of two different batches of Arthur and a bit of a beer called ’mimosa’, a saison brewed with orange zest and brett clausenii. All stainless. Not barrel aged.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Huge frothy head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich hops, elderflowers, orange, citrus and other fruits and malt. Great beer.

bottle... consumed as a group trying all three CD... big head, tons of foam, lasting, good looking beer... lots of musky floral notes, a bit sour, light spice to it... more sweet than I thought it would be, floral, light orange peel, crushable solid saison

pours hazy almost cloudy pale golden with a nice white head, excellent retention and lacing. citrus, oranges, tropicalness, brett, dry fruitiness, light to medium hopping - herbal hopping. also, herbs and yeast, a lot of yeast. delicate livelyness, medium body - silkyness, nice relatively short grassy-citrusy finish. just awesome. enjoyed every sip of it.

Bouteille de 750 ml partagée avec MartinT et Fred82. Merci. (Rating #3986)

750ml bottle thanks to MtGoat.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with big foamy white head. Lots of lacing.
Aroma : Lots of herbal hops with nice belgian yeast. Light tropical brett with light citrusy tang.
Taste : Yeast with great brett and nice citrusy tang. Finish dry and sharp with awesome herbal hops and citrusy notes. Light tropical fruits.
Overall : Wow another masterpiece. Nose is awesome with fresh herbal hops, pillowy malts and delightful funky brett. Taste gets even better with the same characters but leading to a sharp and complex finish with a light rustic tartness. Overall very well balanced, very drinkable, very complex.

750ml bottle at a Hill Farmstead event. Beautiful bright clear golden color with a large lacy white head that lasts. Looks phenomenal. Great bretty aroma with lemon, orange zest, barnyard, and floral hops. The flavor is great - dry and light but flavorful as anything. Big pineapple, orange, and lemon along with a grainy bready pale malt base and funkiness. Just a slight hint of sweetness. Medium-light bodied and very dry with lively carbonation. Wow, really impressed with this beer. One of my favorites from Hill Farmstead so far.

My Bottom Line :
This gorgeous Saison’s prolific hop and yeast union delivers oranges, herbs, pepper and pine needles, all in a dry and fluffy mouthfeel enlightened by tartness.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy blond.
-Light banana esters are a perfect match for the citrusy hops, orange zest, and brett clausenii.
-This is very drinkable.
-The hop bitterness is mostly herbal and a bit spicy.
-How could this be less than excellent? It’s Arthur!.

750 ml shared by Kan! Thanks. Pours a pale golden hue, a bit murky, with muted whitish head, dies to a thicker film, laces ok. Aromas are mellow pear and sweet apple, touch of honey, bread dough, pale malts, spice. A touch of bretty cobwebs. A bit rich. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a bit lighter with apple cider and pears up front, a touch tart and mellow sweetness rolls on. Some mellow spice, yeast, bread dough, with fruity essence. Middle throws a light tartness, crab apple with a touch of funk, with mellow sweet and tart essence, just a mellow yeasty essence comes into the fold. Finish is lightly spicy but light bodied. Some good flavor play and synergy of elements, a touch of complexity, very drinkable with that fruity element yet sufficient dryness. The brett is light, but pleasant, playing well. My favorite of the HF beers opened today.

750ml bottle. Thanks again to Wally... Pours a mostly hazy golden apple hue and topped with a creamy white head that quickly dissipates... Aroma of yeasty must and fruitiness, moreso pineapple and dried fruit promoted by the yeast. Refreshing... Flavors are somewhat sprite with apple pear and yeasty notes. Light to medium bodied. Quality and refreshing. Def enjoyed this more than Vera Mae.
