COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A blend of 5 beers from Four Select Oak Barrels.
Civil Disobedience, our non-violent protest against the homogenization of flavor, comes in the form of a spontaneous, circumstantial, and unpredictable series of beer releases. We relinquish control in favor of an anarchistic collaboration of microbial activity. This is the expression of our conscience, our opposition to oppression, and an act of creative freedom.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2015 Bottle tasting with Kaufmanised; dark mahogany pour with velvety beige head, stewed fruit aroma, fruitiness come through in the taste cherries plums, some toasted malt action, some funk, rewarding beer experience very complex and compelling would love to try other versions. Bottle during HF CD night; opaque mahogany red pour with a thin beige head, tart vinous aroma, taste has cherries, tart dark fruit, a hint of chocolate, still good.

Sampled at FoFA 2013. Pours dark brown with a lacy head. Aroma of sour/tart notes, some dark malts, and some wine and oak. Flavor a nice, complex blend of everything. Smooth texture. A good beer.

Bottle shared with Clockwork and Joel at Torst. Pours a deep brownish body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is subtle tart fruits, wine barrel, oak, yeast and wheat. Mouthfeel is perfect - soft delicate funk, dark sour cherries, wine, oak, wheat and yeast. Great dark, sour saison.

Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 24, 2013
Bottle shared by the HF ex-pat, Leighton. It pours cloudy, darkest mahogany brown with a thick beige head. The nose is wood, toast, vanilla, sour berry, dark fruit, mustiness, mustiness, cocoa and toffee. The taste is mildly sour, tart berry, mild roast, toast, lemon, granny smith apple, copper, earth, vinous, sherbet and light acidity with a dry, tart finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Hides abv pretty well. More like a sour brown than a saison. Pretty nice stuff whatever it is!

Bottle. Pour is dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma is interesting - notes of dark fruit, light funk, faint roasted malt, light cherry, and red wine notes. Flavor is tart up front with red wine notes following. Also notes of wood and faint fruit. Tasty, but the finish is a bit harsh.

MJGG (952) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 13, 2013

Craft Clerkenwell Tasting. Thanks as always to Leighton for keeping us in Hill Farmstead. Hazy dark red - brown beer, Big pale cream coloured head. Light fluffy palate, semi dry. Light sourness. Mildly tart fruits. Touch of malt cream. Semi dry finish. Not bad! Drinks well below it’s abv.
