COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled 05/2013: "Imperial Stout aged in Port & Bourbon barrels Damon (1993-2004). The time spent with loved ones, no lost, seems to affect our mind and body perpetually: memories happen upon us, unsuspectingly, and bring about tears and fond remembrance. Damon was our brother - devout and patient in an age of busyness and distraction. In his honor, we crafted and conditioned this Imperial Stout in both Bourbon and Port Barrels for more than 2 years. We still reflect, daily, upon our Damon and his scruffy chin of grey - of his loyalty and his love. Share. Consider. Enjoy.

Bottle @ The Clerkenwell Share. Thanks to Leighton for landing this! Deep brown pour with a small tan head. Rich, sweet nose. Caramelised plum and prunes. Dark fuits. Plenty of cocoa and vanilla. Sharp woodiness. Taste is similar. Cocoa and toffee. Roasted espresso. Rich and oily. A bit boozy. Decent stuff, but not massively complex or attention-grabbing. Solid.

375 ml bottle. Pours a pitch black colour with a minimal beige head. Aroma of burnt malts, caramel, wood and berries. Flavour is extreme with roastiness, strong port wine notes, tart wood, chocolate, some mild espresso notes and strong bourbon sweetness. Full bodied. Oily mouthfeel. Finishes long, warming, dry, vinous and strong on bourbon. The port wine notes are rather interesting here with bourbon. I haven’t tasted a combination such as this before. Beautiful.
