COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Earl (1911-1985) was our grandfathers brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Stout is crafted from American malted barley, Flaked Oats, English roasted malts, American hops, Organic Guatemalan Coffee, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. A silhouette of coffee and malt - an embodiment of complexity and drinkability, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Earl. 7.2% ALC/VOL 18 P Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2016 500ml bottle, bottled on 1.3.16. Aroma: strong lactose mixed with coffee and roasted malt. App: pitch black with huge pure moka brown head and big lacing. Taste and palate: full creamy body, smooth, light bitter and smokey finish. Overall: an oatmeal stout really made. Im usually not a fan of lactose beers but this is really well made and not hard to drink at all. Its the other way around. Really really smooth and not to sweet. Really well done.

Look; black beer, beige vanished top. Aroma; ice coffee, caramel, zebra candies, grassy hops. Taste; ice coffee black sort of, caramel, dark prune peels fermented through something - and finishes very well liquorice-pruned. Palate; good body, soft, good. Overall; tasty stuff indeed. Tap at mikkeller and friends, copenhagen. Black color, brown head. Aroma has roasty malts, coffee, some smooth vanilla notes. Roasted malts, coffee, little bit high co2, some licorice notes. High carbonation lowers points, its ruining palate. Its okay but somethings missing.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar Copenhagen. Low but lasting creamy light brown head. Pitch black body. Powerful roasted malt coffee aroma and flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness. Coffee very dominant but generally speaking the beer is well balanced with an alcohol level that seems just right.
