Bottle at home. I’ve tried a lot of coffee stouts, and I typically find that they falter in one of two places: either the coffee flavor is too faint, or the acidity is so high from the coffee and the dark malt that it tastes almost sour. This beer was completely different -- easily the best coffee stout I’ve ever had. Rich, medium-full mouthfeel gives it a creamy texture, and the chocolate and coffee are both present and well-integrated. Fantastic. Bottle, by way of trade with Leighton. Big thanks! Clear, dark, chestnut brown. Messy, sticky, bubbly, tan head. Viscous and leggy. Handsome beer. Nose has fresh ground coffee. Vanilla. Coffee ice cream. Chocolate ice cream. Sweet, wheaty malts. As it opens up there’s a woody, unwashed coffee bean earthiness. Some final notes of grassy hop. Taste is earthy bitter. Plenty of cereal sweetness. Smooth, chocolatey soft mouthfeel. Really easy drinking. Finishes long, roast coffee bean bitter. Lingering sweetness on the lips. Packs it in big for only 7.2%. Delightful. Mr_Abner (388) - Michigan, USA - DEC 17, 2015
Bottle. Pours black with a mocha head that leaves behind some lacing as it dissipates to a ring around the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, and roasted malts most apparent after the pour. Slight alcohol after it has warmed. Light sweetness up front overtaken mid-palate by a moderate, slowly growing bitterness and dryness. Chocolate, cocoa. Full bodied, soft and fluffy mouthfeel. Quite dry finish. DuffMan (10664) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 23, 2015
Bottle from SlovakSniper (thanks!), shared with Parksy, phantomhennes, and TvM. We had this alongside Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, and this brew was the clear standout, sperior in balance, complexity, mouthfeel, and simple tastiness. by far the most elegant coffee beer I’ve ever had. Poured from bottle thanks Willrunforbeer black brown pour with a nice two finger tan head. Aromas of fresh coffee roasted malt and hint of oatmeal. A nice rich creamy mouth feel with notes of dark chocolate coffee and malt. ctipping (2233) - Florida, USA - NOV 11, 2015
On tap at the Blackback. Black body. Viscous looking. Huge chocolate head. Settles to a small collar. Aroma of coffee and extremely roasty malt. Oatmeal is really strong. Smells like it could be too roasty.
Taste taste is much improved. Coffee blends into the roasted malt. A little sweet. Oatmeal lends to the sweetness. Even a bit of burnt smokiness.
Smooth and creamy, but it had a roasty bitterness. Medium carbonation.
A little disconnected. Sweet and bitter, both in seemingly disproportionate quantities. zinneke (242) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 1, 2015
Amazing. A lot of roasted, toasted, coffee, dough, chocolate, a bit toffee aromas. Taste is medium bitter, lovely coffee , all very well balanced.
Average carbo, quite creamy medium bodied and nice coffee finish.
Truely the best coffee stout i ever drank. Mvalence (55) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 12, 2015

Black body, thin tan head, sparse lacing. Assertive roasted coffee, some oats, earthy bitterness, and some licorice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, soft sweetness, and, despite the roasted qualities, finishes a bit muted.
