Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Smooth soft palate, semi dry. Sweetish dark chocolate. Obvious smoke, but smooth and not acrid. Light citrus. Smooth finish.
Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London during Jack’s farewell tasting. Pours rich brown with a fine, creamy tan head. Nice peaty, smokey dark malt aroma, dark bread. Medium sweet flavor, lots of smoke, hints of burnt toast, dry ham, subtle brown sugar. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Rounded dark malt finish with plenty more smoke, burnt ham, dark bread, hints of milk chocolate, light earth. Great beer.

Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry finish.

Sample at a NYC-tasting at jredmonds place. Deep brown beer with a nice lasting beige head. Roasted cocoa and licorice flavor, peat, dark chocolate, fruity notes, brown sugar, some coffee. 500mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of light toasted malt, some chocolate / cocoa, and a bit of smoke. Flavour is very robust, especially for a porter, with a wonderful mix of smoked meat, roasted malt and a bit of chocolate. Full-bodied and with a wonderful balance of flavours.
