4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml swing-top growler shared with blankboy and GregClow, via JerCraigs. Hazy light gold, huge fluffy white lasting head. Incredibly dry aroma - grapefruit zest, floral bitterness, background ripe tropical fruit. Taste - oh yeah, that’s the stuff - almost delicate balance of light pinapple/papaya, citrus (grapefruit? lemon? orange) zest and alcohol - light up-front, packs a bitter wallop in the tail. Average body, very astringent, long, long building dry acidic bitter finish. Great stuff. More!!!!
750ml growler poured into a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass.
A~ light glowing orange, with minimal head and a good amount of lacing.
S~ just like grapefruit juice! followed by hoppy hay funk. smells amazing!
T~ grapefruit/lemon/orange peel with some earth notes. more citrus with slight tartness on the finish. this actually kind of reminds me of a hoppy Juicy.
M~ amazing carbonation, smooth as could be with a slight pucker.
O~ one of my favorite hoppy HF brews for sure, probably in the top 3. i love how they portray juice flavors in their brews, some how keeping the mouthfeel in an otherwise very carbonated, hoppy brew. incredible! ctipping (2233) - Florida, USA - NOV 14, 2015
750 mL growler. Originally reviewed 5/6/2013.
Hazy orange. Nice surface foam that lasts a while. Nice lacing.
Smells of lots of grapefruit hops. I’d guess columbus. Slightest bit of sweetness from the malt.
Taste follows the nose. Grapefruit. More bright citrus. Balanced very well by the malt. Barely sweet, but the malt is present. A bit of bitterness.
Medium bodied. Medium low carbonation. Balanced IPA.
I seldom enjoy a balanced IPA, but this is great. Another hit from HF. mabel (9787) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 5, 2014
[5255-20130426] Tap. Citrusy lemon spices and mild wood notes in the aroma. Hazy, pale orange tan body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Bitter citrus rind flavour has a long lemon pip aftertaste. Medium body is quite bitter. Tasty. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

Growler... Cloudy yellow ale with a tiny, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is a fantastic, juicy burst of citrus fruits accompanied by a lesser component of funky gym socks. Light to medium-bodied with a thin mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is moderately bitter, fruity and lightly tart. Lengthy, lightly bitter, tongue-numbing finish. My only gripe is that the body is too thin - a recurring problem with this brewery. Growler courtesy of landhoney! Leighton (22304) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2013
Growler from the brewery - consumed at the cabin in NH. Pours a somewhat hazy gold with a large, frothy white cap. The nose holds crisp tangerine, melon and citrus peel. Light sweet flavor with rindy citrus, light lime, pine, tangerine. Light in body with fine, massaging carbonation. Crisp finish with lightly tangy citrus, some bitter rinds, more tangerine. Charming.

In long: A gigantanormously fruity dark blonde IPA. Pushing the envelope in a good way.callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2013
How: Many times, at the brewery & pubs. This rating for a growler at home consumed fresh a few hours after it was filled.
The look: Cloudy dark blonde body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: Nose is monstrously fruity, where the fruits used in the beer are joined at the hip to the fruity aroma of the hops. Mangos, pineapples, more citrus fruits, more tropical fruits, more exotic fruits, the real fruits used are indistinguishable from the fruity hops, Smells and taste like fruit juice added to HF’s own Harlan, which may actually not be far from the truth. Taste is all that the aroma is supported by a chewy bready malt backbone (fresh bakery white bread sensation) and a solid bitterness that seems to come out of nowhere. Super tasty but I found that the use of fruits creates an initial “wow” factor but it also makes it a little heavier and therefore a less drinkable than other HF IPAs. I had the same feeling about Solitude 6, the first glass was a big “wow!” but a full growler makes me that I prefer their “plain normal” IPAs. Still, this was a great beer. I think those Hill Farmstead IPAs are defective, I keep drinking them but I only become more thirsty.
Hazy glowing-orange body, medium sized white head, soapy lacing. Damn good looking beer. Bright citrus and grapefruit juices, pine and resin. Well rounded hop profile hitting a bunch of notes. Medium bodied, assertive bitterness and appropriate carbonation. Nice finish. bottleforager (3208) - Gray, Maine, USA - JUN 1, 2013
Draft at Hill’s 3rd Anniversary ! Pours a cloudy yellow straw color with a finger of fizz. Lots of citrus, fresh orange zest and fresh sweet grass. Slightly juicy with a round soft mouthfeel. Clean focused backbone of crisp pale malts and a solid bitter pithy finish. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 1, 2013
On tap at Devil’s Den. Foggy orange brown with a creamy white head. Nose is caramel, pine and pink grapefruit. Medium body with a refreshing soft sparkle. Taste is citrus pith and peel, toffee and light pine. Clean and crisp with restrained earthy bitterness. Classic.
