George was our grandfather’s brother, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. George is our American Brown Ale. Hopped, rightfully so, with Centennial, Cascade, and a touch of Columbus… 6% ALC/VOL 15.5º P

750ml growler poured into a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass.

A~ dark brown with a slight tan head and a tiny bit of lacing.

S~ roasty caramel, hazelnut, a little coffe, and some bready yeast on the finish.

T~ pretty much follows the nose exactly which is very rare haha definitely a lot of caramel here and hop bitterness on the finish.

M~ creamy caramel feel, with very nice carbonation. smooth and rich!

O~ very all around well balanced brown. if you’re in the mood for a brown you really can’t go wrong here!

Aroma: rich and roasty; Appearance: dark chocolate brown with thin offwhite head that lingers; Taste: follows nose; lots of roasty caramel; really good for a brown ale; Palate: heavy body with long, roasty, nutty finish that doesn’t get too malty like most browns; Overall: very nice. Probably wouldn’t seek out but an excellent example of the style.
