Draft at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. First beer of Day 2. Pours thick black with a sturdy, dark brown foam head. Rich dark chocolate nose, hints of orange citrus. Rich flavor, medium to big sweetness without being syrupy, some burnt chocolate, light roasty earth and faint tobacco, fair roasty bitterness. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Quite dry and bitter on the finish, perhaps on account of some orange rind. Nice, lasting baking cocoa character. The beer doesn’t weight heavily on the tongue like so many impy stouts, which is an accomplishment. Well rounded beer. peteinSD (1468) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 8, 2012
Bottle from a guy on BA - thanks! Black pour with a nice froth of dark tan foam that hangs in there for some time. Aroma is dry chocolate, roast, light char, bit of spice (could be the citrus), pine, and more light roast through the finish. Very tight aroma profile. Taste is chocolate and roast with spiced citrus and pine. There is also bitter coffee and deep down below some darker fruit. Clean, dry mouthfeel. Very nice imperial stout that is dry and clean and the citrus is a nice twist that plays well off the hops and roast. Great beer. BoBoChamp (5878) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 13, 2012

Bottle courtesy of Reynolds314. Cheers, Matt! Pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is orange peel; a bit out of place in the realm of an imperial stout. Nose is roast, dark chocolate, coffee, slight licorice, and earth along with some sweet orange peel. Flavor is similar- orange up front with some roast, chocolate, earth, licorice, and dark chocolate. Medium in body with citrus on the front and back and an earthy imperial stout in between. jcartamdg (3539) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 26, 2012

Opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange, citrus fruits, roasted malts, and some cocoa. Taste of roasted malts, some citrus, a fair amount of orange, and chocolate with a dry finish. For the age I’m impressed with how much orange has stuck around. dimenhetfield (2554) - , Florida, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Bottle shared with friends. Didn’t know if the citrus was really going to be up front in this one but I kept my hopes up that it would. The citrus wasn’t entirely, a little in the aroma, but it drank just like a good imperial stout should. Good malt, coffee, chocolate flavors all around. Very tasty. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Black pour with a dark brown creamy head that lasts well before fading to a sticky thick film. Nose is a wonderful complex blend of coffee, citrus hops, bitter chocolate, roasty malts, sweet sugary nuances. Flavor is a HUGE burst of citrus, floral, and fruity hops backed up by rich butter chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, bitter hops, and dark roasted malts and complex fruity esters. Carbonation is moderate but well suited to the citrus and overall bitter impression. Chewey mouth feel. Loved it. loads of hops.
