Growler from the brewery - shared with Team London at Zwanze Day 2014 at The Kernel. Pours unclear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose is loaded with melon and tangerine, some pale bread, pissy hops. Medium sweet flavor with buckets more juicy citrus fruits, prominent tangerine, candied orange, lightly pithy grapefruit, melon. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and graceful texture. Lightly oily and resinous on the finish, pretty sweet with low bitterness, more fruity hops, juicy tangerine, ripe orange. Superb balance, great depth. Excellent.

Tap @ Mikkeller and friends. Pours a hop hazy golden with a tiny white head. Aroma is hop forward with some grapefruit, citrus, pine, fresh herbs, a weak malty backbone and just overall a straight up nice hoppy aroma. Taste of of bitter juicy citrusy hops, lots of peach, mandarin, lemon peel and almost some ginger as well! Awesome !

On tap at Hill Farmstead tap takeover, Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade October 10th. Pours a cloudy orange with a low white head. Aromas of mango, peach, apricot, resin and some pine cones. Taste is mango and peach upfront with some resin, pine and slight caramel notes as well. Mouthfeel is very slightly oily and medium bodied with soft carbonation. Ridiculously well balanced and just a fantastic Imperial Pale Ale.

Zwanze Day at the Kernel. Thanks, as ever, to Mr Smith for sharing the HF goodies and this is a goody! Lightly hazy gold beer, big head, very pale cream colour. Palate is airy and a little soft. Mild fine carbonation. Airy malts support lovely hops - Skunk and Motueka like sweet ish floralness. Light hops spice. Pine develops toward the light and semi dry finish. Piney skunk lingers on. Just really nicely joined up and very drinkable.

Fad, Mikkeller & Friends. Uklar ravfarvet, lavt off-white skum. Lidt henkogt i aromaen. Smager fantastisk. Karamel, grapefrugt, fersken, citrus, fyrnåle. God balance mellem maltsødme og humlebitterbitterhed. Fyldig og mild på een gang. Cremet tekstur, lang bitter finish. Sjældent god DIPA.

Tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Smell is very hoppy and has some notes of grass and hay. Pours pale orange with a small white head. Taste is a fresh sensation of hops, citrus and fresh fruits. Palate is light and fresh on the tongue. Overall a great solid DIPA which is highly recommended.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2014 On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. Appears with a very hazy amber body and a somewhat thin, off-white head that has as much heavy lace and film as its cousin Edward. Head regeneration is mediocre. The aroma on this one is far more pronounced than with Edward in that it happily exposes notes of tropical fruits, papaya, citrus and peach. The complexity of the aroma could easily be described in further adjectives were it not for the associative centres of my brain being somewhat impeded by the ambient noise of the environment. Oily texture, medium carbonation, more solid body with the inklings of rocket fuel only here it is refined enough to just be fruit juice with a lingering slightly sweet yet hoppy finish. Flavour is more taxing on the system yet stilll a well balanced mix of aroma notes, hop bitterness and a bit of sweetness. The eight percent of ABV is pretty well masked. Drinkable but still not my favourite style.
