Bottle. Dark ruby, tan head. Aroma: roasted malts, milk chocolate and a touch of treacle. Taste: roasted malts, dark sugared fruits, milky coffee. Clean finish. Medium bodied; relatively high carbonation. Good sweet stout. Sigmund (7917) - Tau, NORWAY - APR 1, 2011
Cask conditioned at The Quakerhouse, Darlington. ABV is 5.0%. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Moderate tan head. Roasty aroma, notes of dark chocolate. I expected an "Irish" dry stout, but the flavour is surprisingly sweet and sugary. The mouthfeel is not very rich though. Roasty notes, black sweetened coffee, some chocolate.
