COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hinano Ambrée is not only made from unroasted malt, which is used in all beers, but also from slow-roasted malt, giving the beer its unique character. But there is more! The aromatic hop used strengthens the intense flavor of Hinano Ambrée.

330ml bottle shared with blankboy - thanks to JerCraigs. I’m a-scared!!! Bright clear deep copper with a small off-white dimishing head. Sweet, grassy, not harsh at all - lightly roasty, even. Taste - where the hell is the nasty?! - sweet, grassy, light, no alcohol, a bit of bitterness in the finish. Light, slick, clean finish - damn it, this is pretty decent!

Very nice crisp amber (surprising) coloured body with a cola glow and a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, cereal, grain and a bit of caster sugar. Medium-bodied; Assertive toasted malt flavours dominate with a good dose of caramel, some alcohol, a touch of grain and toast and a little bit of fruit at the tail end. Aftertaste shows the malt, caramel and toasted notes more than anything else, but some of the light fruit and unfinished sugars are noticeable as well. Overall, a nice beer and the best of the three Hinano beers with a good maltiness and a very fresh flavour. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased at the Grocery Store next to my hotel here in Tahiti, French Polynesia on 14-August-2016 for 245 XPF (CPF) sampled a few hours later while looking out at Moorea on 14-August-2016.

Nice aromas of toast and burnt toffee. Flavour blander than the aroma but enjoyable all the same ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Mild malty nose, damp concrete, light sugary coffee. Dark clear brown, thin head, some lacing. Light roast malt, fizzy jumps of fruitiness, slight scorhed grain, and a thinly sweet finish. Thin-medium body. Gentle, sweet, and simple. Not bad.

Found on Easter Island’s gas station minimarket Pours a clear amber/dark orange color, big off-white head. Aroma is slightly malty, cereally with a touch of caramel and tiny hints of spicy hops. Not bad but too soft. Taste is better, sweet and caramelly but not too much. The sweetness is toned down with neutral bready notes, but no bitterness at all. Watery texture, it never goes for a Bocky approach. It’s clearly and Amber Lager/Vienna, highly carbonated, light to medium bodied and easy to drink. The best beer from French Polynesia so far.

Don’t be too harsh on this. IT might be too sweet and candied up to be honest, but it doesn’t have any edges, mind you doesn’t have too many high points that makes you think oh go again. That’s Vienna Lager though it’s a very specific and soft beer. If by any chance I was in Tahiti I’d be happy to shout you a few though, cheers.

Pours deep amber with a finger of tan head if you’re vigorous enough with your pour. Sweet, caramel malt with a hint of roastiness. Easily the best widely available beer in the region.

330 ml bottle, bought from somewhere in Japan. Pours brownish amber with almost no head. Aroma is subdued and sweet, not crazily sweet but more like Coca-Cola-sweet, or cider-sweet - without acidity, or lychee-sweet. This sweetness is coming from malts but no apparent hops there. Taste has this same lychee character with light Coca-Cola. Hops demonstrate themselves in the aftertaste, dry bitterness lingers in your mouth for a while. I wonder how common this beer really is in Tahiti - it is not very complex beer but still pretty nice and would work well under the hot sun.

Numerous bottles and a few drafts of this while in Tahiti. Moderately thick head. Flavor is wet roasted grain. Typical Vienna aroma and appearance. Light mouthfeel which is what you need in French Polynesia. Better than regular Hinano, but still just a below-average Vienna.
