Bottle - Pours dark brown with a ring of tan head. Nose is bourbon, butterscotch, bready malt, and nice sweetness. Taste is the same--lots of bourbon and butterscotch, bread, yeast, and a sweet warmth. Thin and watery with medium carbonation.

Really tasty beer! Pours a hazy dark amber. Aromas are caramel and bananas. Vanilla too. Dark fruit flavors with more sweet caramel and a warm boozy finish. Really nice.

500mL bottle. Poured smoky reddish-amber with a short, tight-bubbled beige head. The aroma picked up lots of sweet bourbon and caramel, with accents of peppery spice and dark fruits. The flavor found sweet caramel, vanilla, and some dark fruit at the core, with mostly sweet (but slightly tangy) bourbon emanating outward.. finished tacky and sweet, with just a little pepper and bourbon kick. Medium-bodied with OK transitions through the palate.. tighter bubbles on the middle.. this was a solid drinker.

Bottle @ Floydster’s. Thanks, Kyle. Sort of a murky dark amber, brownish colored pour with a small off-white head. Smells a lot like bourbon and vanilla. Kind of roasty, but some sweet banana and caramel. A bit of charred oak. Pretty toasty as well. The flavor is fairly sweet and heavy on the banana. Some raisin, banana, and vanilla. Sort of roasty and burnt, some wood, toasted nuts, and cola. Kind of thin.

Pint nine bottle shared. Pours a medium to dark amber/mahogany color with off white head. Aroma is dopplebock bourbon vanilla oak sweet malt in total awesomeness. Flavor is more of the same delicious bourbon oak vanilla caramel dopplebock. Very well balanced start to finish.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquor - pint bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown with a light mocha colored head that sticks around a while. Aroma has some pleasant bourbon undertones, some dates and a hint of toffee. Flavor has a nice, but not overpowering pleasant bourbon flavor, some light caramel sweetness, a touch of chocolate and an underlying profile of dates and raisins. Mouthfeel has nice thick stickiness to it. Pleasantly surprised - not a huge bourbon barrel fan (although I do love bourbon by itself).

This has been sitting for a bit, not quite sure how long. Attractive ruby dark autumn amber pour. Minimal tan head. Aroma is toasty, bready, toffee, light dried fruity, vanilla, light smooth sweet bourbon. Medium body. Very mild bitterness. Great balanced flavor. The bourbon barrel character is in a backup roll, fits in quite well, Easily among the best Hinterland beers I’ve had.

Light bodied but bold taste. Nice bourbon taste, sweet vanilla, smooth. Lighter than expected, but makes it very drinkable.

Bourbon and dark malts on the nose. Super hazy brown colour, nice beige head . Flavour is perfect, definite bock but the bourbon just adds a great counter point. Nice smooth alcohol warmth. Amaze balls!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This one poured a lighter brown with a beige head. Aroma was of bourbon, dark fruits, and caramel. Falvor was similar, somewhat oxidized brleywine feel too it with nice vanilla and oak barrel notes. Solid.
