Draft. Cloudy amber color, tan head. Banilla and caramel aroma. Taste is boozy sweet butterscotch.

Bottle @ Floydster’s. Thanks, Kyle. Sort of a murky dark amber, brownish colored pour with a small off-white head. Smells a lot like bourbon and vanilla. Kind of roasty, but some sweet banana and caramel. A bit of charred oak. Pretty toasty as well. The flavor is fairly sweet and heavy on the banana. Some raisin, banana, and vanilla. Sort of roasty and burnt, some wood, toasted nuts, and cola. Kind of thin.

500 ml bottle poured a hazy reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, vanilla, carmel, toffee, dried fruit and light molasses. Palate was medium bodied and smooith. Flavors of carmel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, light dried fruit and light oak with a smooth lingering bourbon finish.

Draft. Poured dark brown color with a moderate light brown head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good caramel toasted malt and bourbon barrel aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Good well balanced woody dark sweet flavor with a moderate smooth sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid doppelbock.

Not terrible, I have had other better bb dbs but I just feel this is a style that speaks for itself w/o the barrel treatment.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Slightly murky slightly lighter cola pour with minimal head. Nice mild wood and bourbon aroma. Taste is a little less bold. Moderate to lighter palate.

Taster on tap at Lackman. Clear darker red kind of brownish door. Minimal off-white head - just a thin ring around the edge. No lace. Nice vanilla, woody bourbon barrel nose. Hint of spice, dark fruit in the aroma. Some caramel, toffee, butterscotch in the flavor, some earthiness, very tasty and complex. Light to moderate sweet taste, moderate bitter too, light bourbon type alcohol. Hint of chocolate. Bigger body. Lighter, lightly soft carbonation, More dry. Tasty, complex bourbon barrel ale.

16 oz bottle to oversized snifter (shared with the Mrs.; thanks Skyview). Looks solid; a semi-opaque amberish-brown with off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid; malt and bourbon. Average on the palate. It could be a little more viscous, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquor - pint bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown with a light mocha colored head that sticks around a while. Aroma has some pleasant bourbon undertones, some dates and a hint of toffee. Flavor has a nice, but not overpowering pleasant bourbon flavor, some light caramel sweetness, a touch of chocolate and an underlying profile of dates and raisins. Mouthfeel has nice thick stickiness to it. Pleasantly surprised - not a huge bourbon barrel fan (although I do love bourbon by itself).

500mL bottle. Poured smoky reddish-amber with a short, tight-bubbled beige head. The aroma picked up lots of sweet bourbon and caramel, with accents of peppery spice and dark fruits. The flavor found sweet caramel, vanilla, and some dark fruit at the core, with mostly sweet (but slightly tangy) bourbon emanating outward.. finished tacky and sweet, with just a little pepper and bourbon kick. Medium-bodied with OK transitions through the palate.. tighter bubbles on the middle.. this was a solid drinker.
