4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle purchased at Ridgeview Liquor in Green Bay, WI. A somewhat vigorous pour yields a finger thick tan head. Dark brown color, almost black with a slight haze. Fantastic aroma of woody bourbon and toasted malt with just a hint of chocolate. Taste is very similar to the smell. The bourbon really starts to come forward and just when I’m expecting an alcoholic bite, the bourbon subsides and the malt balances this wonderfully. A nice creamy body that finishes smoothly. Awesome beer and it went well with some spicy chili! Time to purchase a few more bottles.
Pours a darker brownish amber color with tan colored head. Bourbon, caramel sweetness, bread, oak, and some cereal on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes very smooth with some caramel and a touch of bourbon. Weezel (272) - Florida, USA - OCT 11, 2015
Beautiful deep ruby color. Big rocky pour that settles quickly. Notes of grapes, port, and smoke in the aroma. Tastes a bit sweet up front with the bourbon barrel showing midway through. Slight alcohol burn and finishes with a hint of bitterness and a nice aftertaste. Pretty solid. RustBeard (1) - Freeport, Illinois, USA - AUG 25, 2015 does not count
Really smell the bourban, and the taste came thru with some caramel. I recommend to anyone who comes across this. Travlr (24656) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 5, 2015
Draft. Cloudy amber color, tan head. Banilla and caramel aroma. Taste is boozy sweet butterscotch. Mikey58 (11) - Wisconsin, USA - JUL 6, 2015
Great aroma - definitely smell the bourbon on the nose. Pours a very deep amber/brown with a tan head. You can definitely taste a lot of flavors in this beer...roasted malt, oak, vanilla, toffee, and of course, bourbon. It’s rich, but not heavy...almost a little thin for a bourbon aged beer. Very enjoyable and drinkable. One of my favorites from this brewery.

Bourbon up top followed by nice caramel flavors. Hops are well balanced in there and play a good supporting role. mbgrayson (771) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - APR 15, 2015
Pours a nice reddish amber with tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is rich and delicious. Taste of wood and bourbon meld well with a strong doppelbock. This is a tasty and drinkable beer. Thumbs way uo. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 5, 2015
tap - Pours dark brown with a minimal tan head. It smells of caramel malt and bourbon. The flavor is of sweet caramel malt and moderately strong bourbon with some vanilla notes. Quite good. jnkor (364) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAR 13, 2015
Aroma is sweet but a bit flat. Poured a nice dark deep brown, but lacking a head. Taste is a little boozy, sweet, but nothing poignant. Feel is nice and carbonated but thick. Would probably age well. as297 (6) - - FEB 15, 2015 does not count
good aroma on the pour into a glass.
bourbon flavor is not overwhelming and very well balanced with the caramel and grains in the beer
