Dark brown with a medium sized tan head and good lacing. Aroma and flavors of chocolate and toasted malts
Bottle at RBWG 2014, thanks! Pours a dark brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light chocolate notes with earthy dark grains and a hint of bourbon. Flavor has chocolate throughout with dark grains and a touch of bourbon in the finish. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - FEB 16, 2014
Bottle:   Dark, soft stout.   Bourbon barrel aging is minor.   A little graham cracker and faint woodiness on the tongue.   Light, almost more of a Porter or even a strong Brown Ale.   Faint coffee and dark chocolate, and I mean faint.   Also the Bourbon is nearly non-existant, woodiness is not really there.   After having several Bourbon aged beers tonight, this one was just weaksauce. b3shine (9019) - Indiana, USA - FEB 15, 2014
Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks good for the style; a translucent cola with foamy beige head. Smells solid; dark malt, chocolate, oak, and bourbon. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable, and full-flavored for the abv.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #170. Bottle shared at the Downtown Inn Saturday PM Bottle Share. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy head. Good head retention. Aroma of nuts, roasted malts, herbal hops, very faint barrel character. Taste is whiskey, brown malt, roasted malts, wood, herbal hops. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. alexsdad06 (10586) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - FEB 6, 2014
Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small beige head. I was expecting an overly bourbony stout because of the low abv. What I found was some roasted malt, light chocolate and a mild bourbon character. The negative was the unexpected acidic sweaty character to the flavor which I did not enjoy. mrjaxson (607) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 26, 2014
As low key a bourbon barrel-influenced stout as I’ve encountered. Nice balance to the coffee and vanilla, but not much punch -- which, to me at least, I expect. And 5.3 alcohol? They’re not even trying. Tmoney99 (14755) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 16, 2014
Draft. Poured black color with an average brown frothy head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt and bourbon wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark chocloate bourbon sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. On tap at Dutch’s. Dark brown, near black color, not completely opaque. Thin tan head, couple ropes and dots of lace, mostly loose. Very nice coffee, vanilla, bourbon barrel wood flavors. Moderate sweet taste, moderate bitter. Medium body. Soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky finish. Maybe a little sweet, and a little thin for my liking, although it is nice to have the bourbon flavor with none of the bite. Compared with the Lunatic, I liked this one based off my initial sample tastes more, but later with a larger portion I ended up preferring the Lunatic.
