Bottle shared during RBWG 2014 Asheville - Late Nite session. Cheers! Pours clearish brown with a frothy, beige head. Tangy chocolate aroma. Medium sweet flavor, earthy, with light bitter cocoa notes. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with more chocolate, burnt leaves, toasted bread. Just OK overall. VEry light flavors in a bourbon aged stout. Some fruitiness, light bourbon, not a huge amount of coffee. deyholla (11486) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 16, 2014
Bottle at RBWG 2014, thanks! Pours a dark brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light chocolate notes with earthy dark grains and a hint of bourbon. Flavor has chocolate throughout with dark grains and a touch of bourbon in the finish.

Bottle @ Armin’s apartment. Thanks Armin! Pours a black appearance with a brown head. A bit twangy, light vinegar, metallic, chocolate, coffee aroma. Strong vanilla, a bit fruity, strong roasted malty, coffee, slightly twangy flavor. Flavor is better than the aroma but still not that great. Barrel isn’t that forward. Ok. Bottle. Very dark pour with a huge fluffy head. Lots of dark chocolate in this. Medium palate. Mild bourbon. Decent. alexsdad06 (10265) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 6, 2014
Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small beige head. I was expecting an overly bourbony stout because of the low abv. What I found was some roasted malt, light chocolate and a mild bourbon character. The negative was the unexpected acidic sweaty character to the flavor which I did not enjoy. On tap at Dutch’s. Dark brown, near black color, not completely opaque. Thin tan head, couple ropes and dots of lace, mostly loose. Very nice coffee, vanilla, bourbon barrel wood flavors. Moderate sweet taste, moderate bitter. Medium body. Soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky finish. Maybe a little sweet, and a little thin for my liking, although it is nice to have the bourbon flavor with none of the bite. Compared with the Lunatic, I liked this one based off my initial sample tastes more, but later with a larger portion I ended up preferring the Lunatic. arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Pour out of 500 mL bottle, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, slight tangy, bready notes, hints of earth, grass, slight vinous notes, touch of chocolate. Taste is better, some slight tang into creamy dark chocolate, roast, hints of earth, slight oak, finishing slightly bitter, dry.
