On tap at new brewery. At first sniff I thought this beer would be a bit boozey. It ended up be a really nice balanced beer. Great flavor with nice carbonation and great mix of bourbon and coffee. Overall I enjoyed this one. Lacking a little on mouthfeel but still a great beer! mrjaxson (570) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 11, 2016
A whole lot to chew on. Aroma very subdued with shades of chocolate and caramel most prominent. Different layers of sweetness make the tongue tingle--or maybe it’s the high ABV. Good bottle. ads135 (4587) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - APR 17, 2016
Works the imperial angle to the extreme. Deep and dark with a dense roastiness and chocolately sweet finish. JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAR 30, 2016
Nearly black liquid, with just a hint of brown on the edges when held to the light. Taller dense head of tan bubbles and nice sheet of lace. Aroma is dominated by roasted malt. Bittersweet chocolate and mild coffee wander about in the background. Thick, nearly mouth coating feel. Bitterness and acidity add bite and help lift the liquid off the palate. Black malt bitterness in the finish. Some darker fruits work their way in and out. This begs to be added to a chocolate demi-glaze. A nice way to end the night. 1/14

This beer starts off kind of slow. Gets better as it sits out but finishes weak. Haha sorry I had to after the Packers loss. This actually is a very good stout. Would like to try again.

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2015 From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours black with a tan head. Coffee aroma. Flavors of chocolate, tobacco and leather. Bitter roast finish. marcus (10138) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 12, 2015
On tap at Map Room. Pours Near black with a thick tan head and a chocolate aroma. There is a rich smoked malt, chocolate and treacle flavor with a dry bitter finish. nearbeer (5362) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 31, 2015
12 oz. Deep ebony with an enduring half inch of spongy foam. Nose is cocoa, espresso with a dab of cream, plus touches of soy and blackberry. Tastes of dark toasted whole grain bread, espresso, soy, blackberry and dark chocolate. Heavy body has a medium carbonation that remains mostly smooth and helps carry the big body. Leans to the sweet side but is a pretty drinkable dessert beer. BeerInHeaven (444) - Brillion, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 6, 2015
pours pitch black with a smallish but dense ruby brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, earthy. Creamy mouth feel. Taste is rich. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, burnt toast, black coffee. Bitter linger on the palate. The 9.5% alcohol is present, but muted by the robustness of the brew. Good beer! G_Ram9 (93) - - APR 28, 2015
This is a very good imperial stout! I find that it lacks the complexity of some others that I've tried but it makes up for it with a pure delicious taste and a smooth drinkability that rivals some of the best.
