It’s nice to see a local (Wisconsin) brewery tackling a session IPA. Hinterland nailed this one. 4.3%, according to the menu at hinterlandbeer.com, and it has a HUGE hop aroma. Big citrus and grapefruit nose here. Very nice carbonation with a tight white head.
This beer is extremely hoppy for how light the body is, but I didn’t find it thin. A little bit of Belgian spice going on, which I will guess is from the yeast. Speaking of, it looks to be unfiltered, so a swirl of the bottle is necessary.
Overall, this will be my go-to summer beer. Fredis23 (564) - Hickory Hills, Illinois, USA - JUL 13, 2013
Dark Hazy Yellow, Huge Bubbly Head Leaves Lots Of Foamy Lacing. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Sweet, Grapefruit, orange. Bitter Pine Finish. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Easy to drink. If Hefeweizen and IPA had a love child, this would be it. Refreshing. Loved it. Recommended. Cousin_Larry (895) - - JUL 20, 2013
This is the first white IPA I’ve seen. It’s very good. Taste is almost like a wheat beer, but it still has the usual IPA bitterness. Actually it’s really good. pablo951 (691) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Had it on tap at Owen & Engine in Chicago. Poured a hazy yellow/orange color, and a thin head with wild lacing. It has a grapefruit hop aroma with a delicious hop light taste. nuplastikk (6514) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 16, 2013
Tap at OF. Thick, yeasty orange-tan body. Steady white head, creamy. Zesty orange, grapefruit rind aroma. A nice example of the White IPA style, lots of citrus dominated hop tones. Very yeasty, which really completes the picture. Great beer. Green Bay does White IPA right!
