Good balance of flavors! Listed as IPA where I am currently at, but is not hoppy... I like it.... Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Petrucci914 (910) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 29, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2008 Pours and orange-amber color with a medium white head that leaves nice webs of lacing. Aroma is light bourbon, pineapple, vanilla, bitter and floral hops. Taste is about the same. It is very smooth and there is almost no crazy bitterness or anything, just the perfect tastes of a wonderful IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2008 A barrel aged IPA may sound sick to some, but man, is this stuff something else! Pours a rich amber color with moderate off white head. Aroma is oak, light vanilla, light tobacco and floral resinous hops. Taste is oak, vanilla, some caramel and citrus hops. Carbonation is just right in this full bodied brew. Everything is well balanced and delicious. If you are in town you owe it to yourself to try it.

On tap at a summer street fair in Chicago. Aromatic, delicious, full-bodied and bitter, definitely a beer to sip instead of quaff

Poured from the four pack, look is chunky brown with an orange-red hue, I don’t smell any bourbon which is good because usually the beer takes the flavor of the booze. I have to be honest I wouldn’t have purchased this beer if I’d known it was aged in booze barrels but this one held up quite nicely and still had a lot of hop flavor with some fruit flavor, was easy drinking considering how strong it is. I will buy this one again. Bsteele (1) - - AUG 10, 2016 does not count
This beer is a one of a kind taste that is full in flavor and aroma. Caramel tones with a beautiful bourbon oak flavor. I catagorize it as a "dessert" beer. One of my all-time favorites that keeps me coming back to Green Bay all the way from Arizona just to enjoy it. Skyview (5927) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - NOV 30, 2008
On draught at the brewery/brewpub in downtown Green Bay, WI. Pours a semi-clear brownish copper/red brew with a quick dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin film top and no ring. Aroma of bourbon with caramel, tangerine, grapefruit and a touch of vanilla. Taste is full bodied, very little carbonation if any with very complex flavors of bourbon, grapefruit, a touch of tangerine, iced tea, vanilla and some toffee. Finish has a thick texture with a lingering bourbon and grapefruit aftertaste that is quite sweet. The bourbon comes out stonger in the finish. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 18, 2008
Very balanced but very nice hop profile. Oak, if any is subtle. It adds to, rather than is the main component. Nice bitter grassy hops. Vanilla. Medium mouthwatering mouthfeel. I do not usually like a BA IPA because it normally does not work. This one did. beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - APR 2, 2014
Fresh batch. Bottle. Pours a clear, dark, ruby reddish orange amber. Medium, frothy creamy white head, partly lasting with nice lace. Aroma comes together pretty nicely, seamless, finds caramel sweetness, dark fruity, overripe grapefruit, light bourbon barrel character. The more I take it in, the more complex it gets. The hops end up pairing really well with the bourbon barrel character. Higher end of medium body. Flavor not quite as seamless as aroma but still nice and smooth. Piney and grapefruit bitterness, leveled out with caramely malty sweetness and subtle bourbon barrel character. Light booze. Dry, oaky, almost powdery finish, maybe too much so. The bourbon barrel character stays in a complimentary role and it makes this one work.
