COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our traditional, all-natural full-bodied Hirter 1270er is a delicious interplay between ancient recipes and modern-day tastes. Its characteristic color is due to the gently roasted, caramelized brewing malt.

The water of the Hanslbauer spring and the prolonged maturation time make the Hirter 1270er a GMO-free, non-pasteurized and all-natural beer specialty.

Its delicately balanced, malty flavor, which is enhanced by the subtly integrated carbonic acid structure, is due to the use of the purest aromatic hops, paired with caramelized brewing malt. The Hirter 1270er treats beer lovers to a crisp, full-bodied burst of aroma. 11.9°

Well, it’s better than ok. Pours light brown, getting a bit of a floral aroma, possibly because I just washed my hands with pretty floral smelling soap. This beer is just a bit different, taste is interesting, that’s all I have right now, not a bad thing though.......

330ml bottle. Pours a dark gold with slight white head. Rich malty nose with a strong yeast note. Medium body with the same strong malt and yeast front. It feels like a midway point between a lager and a schwarzbier. Interesting but likely the only time I will drink it.

On tap at Big Tolk Pub, Opatovina, Zagreb. Dark golden, small off-white head. Grainy, light caramel, dark bread, metallic. Sweet with some dryness from toasted malts. Light body, moderate carbonation, lightly sweet finish. Not very good.

Tap at the source in Austria. Amber clear pour, pretty bright, medium ivory foam. Nose: wow! Firmly caramel and malty, mou. Mouth: rough caramel, clean, a bit of a mou like mouth.

From tap. Clear, dark amber color with an off-white head. The aroma is lightly malty - sweet bread, caramel - and lightly yeasty. Medium body with a light to medium sweetness and a light to medium bitterness. The flavor is malty with dried fruits, some caramel, bread, pear and hints of coffee.

Licht roodbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en ietwat kruidig met sporen van karamel, chocolade en rozijn. Verrassend goed.

AMber with little white head. Aroma is green apple, toasty malt, wheat. Taste is sour juicy citrus with some hoppy stuff and bitter malt. Sparkly on the tongue. Finish of bitter alcohol and sour juice. Ok.

klukas (368) - Rijeka, CROATIA - FEB 8, 2017
Enjoyed: On tap (into a mug; Me Gusta Gourmet Pub in Rijeka) Appearance: Clear red copper colour, with lively small but steady head. Aroma: Barley, malt. Palate: Medium to full body, with perfect medium carbonation. Taste: Bread, grains, gentle bitter with bitterish aftertaste. Overall impression: Very tasty and enjoyable, which is not surprising from this brewery. Real beer, like beer used to be.
