COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our long tradition has taught us how to brew particularly natural, untreated beers. With the Hirter Biobier, we have taken the idea of natural beer products one step further.

Based on the soft mountain spring water of the Hanslbauer spring, the Hirter Biobier is GMO-free, non-pasteurized and entirely natural and was Austrias first organic beer back in 1998. All used raw materials are exclusively sourced from Austrian organic farms, so its no wonder that the Hirter Biobier obtains a distinctively mellow, fruity and easy-to-drink character. Its outstanding flavor is enhanced even further by a mild carbonic acid structure. 11.6

Bottled, 0,50l. Courtesy of CanCrusher, thanks! Clear pale golden color with large frothy white head. nice lacing and flat visible carbonation in palate. Aroma is grainy, grassy, vegetably, dusty with light notes of caramel and vanilla. Taste starts with moderate sweet grainy malt, follows a bit spicy and grassy sour with surprisingly warming mouthfeel and light bitter finish. Light to medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Only natural ingredients makes it more desirable :) In fact, its pretty good lager, regardless its bio qualities...

Bottle. Clear golden-yellow colour with lively carbonation and small white head, that sits down slowly. Weak aroma, mostly of barley and corn. Flavor is bitter light and it goes to moderate bitter in the aftertaste. Light bodied, watery, drinkable.

Koelschtrinker (17990) - Kln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 21, 2011
Wrziger Hopfenantrunk, frisch, mittel-intensiv. 9/10/9/8/10/8

19/02 0.33 l bottle Doggythedog brought from Graz, thanks for sharing! It poured deep golden body with small head. Good quality malts make its aroma, but hops are missing to round it, which is specially felt in flavor. Its pleasant otherwise, some nice honeyish malts and herbal spicy things. Thinner body with shorter, but pleasant sweetish finish. An OK beer, with few obvious flaws.

0.33l bottle purchased at the nice Bioshop in Graz, shared with heavy. Poured a golden body with a small white head that went away fast. The nose is just grainy / malty but in a fine way. Liiiight malty taste, a bit flowery/polleny. Kinda tasty but too light, dryish and papery. Few if any hops.

bottle. Slightly hazy pale yellow, mid-sized white head. Hoppy nose with cardboardy notes. Malty, a bit watery, flavours of cardboard, the hops are very shy here. Couldnt really convince me.

Nice appearance though filtered. White lasting head. Aroma is of spent grain, slightly metallic. Weak.
