COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our long tradition has taught us how to brew particularly natural, “untreated” beers. With the Hirter Biobier, we have taken the idea of natural beer products one step further.

Based on the soft mountain spring water of the Hanslbauer spring, the Hirter Biobier is GMO-free, non-pasteurized and entirely natural and was Austria’s first organic beer back in 1998. All used raw materials are exclusively sourced from Austrian organic farms, so it’s no wonder that the Hirter Biobier obtains a distinctively mellow, fruity and easy-to-drink character. Its outstanding flavor is enhanced even further by a mild carbonic acid structure. 11.6°

Marko (5930) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - FEB 21, 2009
0.33l bottle purchased at the nice Bioshop in Graz, shared with heavy. Poured a golden body with a small white head that went away fast. The nose is just grainy / malty but in a fine way. Liiiight malty taste, a bit flowery/polleny. Kinda tasty but too light, dryish and papery. Few if any hops.

Quack-Duck (9490) - Down South, GERMANY - FEB 7, 2009
bottle. Slightly hazy pale yellow, mid-sized white head. Hoppy nose with cardboardy notes. Malty, a bit watery, flavours of cardboard, the hops are very shy here. Couldn’t really convince me.

Scauca (490) - Lovere, ITALY - OCT 3, 2008
Nice appearance though filtered. White lasting head. Aroma is of spent grain, slightly metallic. Weak.

Ungstrup (38243) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2008
Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of metal and cabbage. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of cabbage, and the body is thin.

Storm (2684) - Amager, DENMARK - MAR 24, 2008
Clear golden colour with a little head. Aroma and flavour of grain and malt. Ends up bitter and dry. Dull.

harrisoni (19168) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 21, 2008
500ml bottle at Bohemian, Deal. Gold, thin white head. Slight puke and perfumed cereal on aroma. Actually really wheaty. From the front label, it suggests it’s some kind of organic beer. Real flavour of cereal. Good in mouth, with a herby hop finish, really rather good, but the pukey sickly cereal aroma is not good. Is quite light in mouth and a bit dull.

From bottle, blind tasting at Papsoes - beer no 39. Pours clear yellow with a completely gone head. Mouldy aroma with notes of malt and dry corn. Flavour is dry malty, no bitterness and only slightly different from water. Ends bland.
