Our Hirter Festbock is a specialty beer that goes back several centuries. It is different from other beers not just due to its higher alcohol content, but also its prolonged maturation period of at least five months.

GMO-free, non-pasteurized and entirely natural, the Hirter Festbock goes back to the soft mountain spring water of the Hanslbauer spring opposite the brewery. With its particularly clear color and pure fragrance, the beer is extremely mellow, almost sweet on the palate. Despite its high original gravity, the Festbock has a harmonious, bittersweet finish. Another characteristic of the beer is its mild carbonic acid structure, which guarantees a perfect drinking experience. 16°

Bottle, 330 ml at Tolkiens House, Zagreb. Pours golden with short lasting white head. Sweet malty, bit fruity and pretty strong alcohol note which is a dealbreaker for me.

cyrildance (2) - - DEC 1, 2013 does not count
Unusally fresh approach for a traditional Bock beer. Cystal clear, fine peony hops, visually impressive crown with limited stability. a good start for Advent.

Cristobal37 (1176) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 25, 2013
After sampling a few good Austrian bocks this one is the weakest, blandest, most forgettable of the bunch. I’ve heard good things about Hirter, but their festbock is flat, empty, and abandons your palate faster than a bat outta hell. Pass!
