Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Clear orange red color that edges on ruby tint. Sweet malts with dry grain and yeast smells. Taste is a dry yeasty flavor. Very little finish but doesn’t offend. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - SEP 12, 2009

.5 Liter. Austrian Dark Malt Liquor. Reddish-brown color. Aroma of rich malt. Raisins. Smells like a Bock. Flavor is a sweet malt. Very balanced. Finishes with a raisin water taste. 13 sept 08 drpimento (3572) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 10, 2009
mmmm, very nice beer! Got this bottle at Sam’s in Chi a couple of weeks ago. Poured with a huge, textured, foamy, and frothy tan head and lots of lace. Color is a nice dark walnut. Aroma is malty with toffee and mild. Flavor is similar with some lurking sweetness. Great body with fine carbonation and soft mouth goes very well with flavor. Nice easy finish. Session beer. noompa (130) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 3, 2009
On tap @ Map Room. Quite similar to Kostritzer, but w/ more horse-blanket in aroma, less full-bodied and more flavorful on the whole- liquorish comes through a bit. Tasty. tmoreau (4298) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAY 2, 2009
On tap at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle,IL., lesser serving requested in a small lager glass. The beer poured a deep brown with some ruby tones showing through the glass. The head was off white and diminishing while leaving some clingy lacing. The aroma started with a toasty nature along with a distinctive Munich malt sweetness. Hints of nuts and caramel were also detected. The flavor mimicked the nose with the light malt sweetness taking center stage, and finished with a subtle dryness. Respectable Munich. beastiefan2k (3903) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - APR 20, 2009
Pours with a medium head, nice and fluffy. That fades into a decently thick lacing which grows easily as the glass is agitated. Color is clear ruby brown. Aroma is lagered berries and light, clean caramel lagered malts. Works well, the aromas bounce off of each other. Some light earthy/herbal German hops peaking through there as well. Taste has a bit more clean malt sweetness with a light mineral water and hop presence. The mineral aspect makes it super easy to drink. Just goes down easy with no thick or overbearing aspects. Light nutty sweetness tickles the aftertaste senses. Nothing alone is remarkable but it all comes together very nicely. Just so damn drinkable.
500mL bottle, BB 11/2009, in a generic white wine glass.
