COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Hirter Morchl is not just a unique brand its production method also differs from that of other dark beers. The beers seductive color is due to the dark brewing malt, hops and caramel malt, while its smooth taste comes from the soft mountain spring water used in the brewing process. Left to mature in a prolonged aging process, its GMO-free, non-pasteurized and completely natural. Beer lovers will appreciate its dry maltiness on the palate and pleasantly rounded, faintly bitter finish. 12.8

500ml bottle, not bad at all! Poured a deep Coke Cola brown with a small off-white/beige head that settled into a thin lacing. Aromas of toasted grains and roasted coffee malts with a light fruitiness. Moderate carbonation and a crisp, slick and smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel. Very tasty, a sweet caramel toffee and a roasted coffee, a soft fruitiness, a light spiciness from the hops, a little caramelized sugary towards the end and a sweet roasted malty finish.

pivnizub (10569) - Bochum, Porř, GERMANY - MAY 22, 2008
Bottle (diky, Quack-Ducku !): Deep ruby-amber coloured with a quite persistent, fluffy beige head; moderate to stronger, dryish roast-malty nose with a sweet caramelly background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; solid caramelly, but mainly dry roast-malty finish. A fine, fine Dunkel, absolutely not cloying.................

(bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, dark mahogany colour with a mid-sized beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with strong notes of chocolate and caramel. Initially slightly molassy sweet flavour, toast-malty, slightly burnt malty taste with leafy, minimal dried fruity notes; moderately sweet and roasty finish with a balancing hoppy bitterness. Aromatic Dunkel with Schwarzbier attributes (14.05.08).

Pour is a dark brown with a nice sized white head. Aroma is caramel and very sweet. Flavor is caramel malts with a little dark fruit and chocolate. Finish is a tad watery but there is enough of a profile to carry this one along. A decent enough dunkel.

Bottle. Small frothy, fizzy tan head that mostly diiminished, fair amount of lacing, transparent, carbonation observed, and a reddish orange hue. Nose was moderately malty, caramel, sweet, hoppy, some chocolate, and hints of fruit. Flavor was caramel, some chocolate, fruity, malty, and sweet.Tingly mouthfeel and medium body.Quaffable, easy to drink, but there are better available of this style and I possibly would have this one again.

SpudClampDawg (1029) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - MAR 13, 2008
16.9oz bottle: Murky deep brown pour with a healthy beige head that slowly settles. The nose is full of toffee and plum notes, very fresh and bright. A subtle earthiness lies beneath. The body is full with sweet caramel malts taking charge. Esthery plum and raisin follow, with notes of butterscotch leading into a creamy finish. Very good and real drinkable.
