sweet but decently balanced with equal bitterness. sweetness still shines through with a spectrum of notes including grape and the standard mollasses. Lemke10 (996) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 17, 2012
I got a single 1pt., 9oz bottle from Everett’s in South Beloit, IL for $2.29 in October 2012.
Pours a very dark brown with a slight off-white head. There is a mild scent of hops and malts but nothing too strong. The taste is ever so slightly heavy in taste but not by much. There is a decent combination of hops, malts, and yeast to make a dark beer that drinks fairly easy. Although it drinks well, it really could use some work in flavor department as the taste is kind of bland. For a small city, this was a rather interesting find.

Nice looking--dark brown, with a sizeable off-white head that leaves a goodly lace. Aroma, however, is rather unpleasant, buttery, with some thin carob notes, and a metallic twang. Flavor is relatively thin, unpleasantly buttery, with some carob or cheap nougat notes. drdisque (899) - Illinois, USA - JAN 27, 2011
Decent dunkel with moderate depth of flavor, thin mouthfeel, and moderate bitterness. Nothing outstanding about it though. darioklc (845) - Karlovac, CROATIA - SEP 10, 2013
Dark colored with light tan head. It has some chocolated taste with hint of roasted coffee and some caramel maltness. Very drinkable because of light body. It’s tastes really nice.

Bottle. Hazy, very dark mahogany liquid. Light tan dense foam. Soft carbonation. Light sweetness, medium bitterness. Coffee aroma at first, dried plum aftertaste. Very good one. Wendigo (720) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 16, 2017
0.5l bottle. Malty aroma, roasted malts, caramel, light coffee notes. Dark brown color, ivory head. Malty taste, coffee, roasted malts, caramel, light sweet, light to medium bitter. Light body, slick texture, soft carbonation and bitter-sweet finish. Good. The Etruscan (711) - Tuscany, ITALY - JUN 20, 2008
Beige foamy head. Mahogany colour. Aroma is malty with light roasty and bready notes. Flavor is malty too with light fruity and roasty tones, ending in a malty slightly nutty finish. Light bodied.

Tap pours garnet brown with foamy light tan head. Smell is moderately roasted chocolate malt, pretty grainy. Taste is similar but smooth, subtle creamy palate with grainy fruity sweetness that lingers. Some apple and dark fruit come through the bright carbonation that is perfect to expand the flavor. The end is slightly grain bitter but with a caramel like sweetness that sticks to the front of my tongue. Good brew overall. jeverszeuge (647) - GERMANY - AUG 28, 2007
red-brown colour, id-sized and solid, brownish head.roasty smell with coffee. starts (unexpected) with hops. roasty taste with coffee is dominant but very hopsy. mid mor bitter and a bit sticky on the lips. ends bitter and smoky with sweet and fruity aromes. interesting.
