500ml bottle. Pours a medium creamy white head. Colour is treacle black. Aroma of ginger and peat. Taste is spicy with some orange and gingerbread. Slight coffee aftertaste. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Carbonation is medium to heavy. An interesting take on the dunkelbier style, a very spicy, enjoyable beer.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2017 Clear dark brown color, small off-white head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts. Thin body, a bit creamy. Soft carbonation. Not bad, but I thin score of 99 in style is a little bit too much. lello4ever (990) - ITALY - FEB 8, 2015

Erzengel (8768) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUN 8, 2015
Malty and nice beginning. Dry, fresh. Malty and round, Sweetish-malty. Hints of nuts, of caramel with not too much bitterness. Nice and solid Dunkel. Dry-malty, round, easy to drink and fresh. klm1 (1538) - Bled/SF, - JUN 11, 2015
Pours dark brown with tiny light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and floral/fruity hops. Taste is sweet - Fruity caramel, with dry and sligthly dry / sweet finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and bitterness. Drinkable, but not superlative.

Mild aroma with a brown dark color, also mild taste of roasted malt. Easy to drink and not very lasting on a tong. Not bad but noting special Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 17, 2007
Bottle, BB 03/08. Poured clear iced tea brown with a short, creamy beige head. The aroma picked up very sweet caramel and chocolatey notes along with some pils malts. The flavor was quite sweet again, with caramel and bready notes at the core.. sweet around the edges and through the finish, where it picked up some chocolate and minerals. Lighter-bodied and all kinds of sweet on the palate.. solid for the style, but I don’t find it to be a very good style. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 7, 2008
Thanks Jason. The beer pours to a translucent medium brown body with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is full of mineral water and biscuits. Odd notes of something like buttered tobacco. The flavor is mineral water soaked tobacco and a deep caramelized sugar. Strange but fairly drinkable. Best by 03-2008. Slayer85 (1051) - Firenze, ITALY - JUL 1, 2008
Bottled. A clear dark red beer with a huge and persistent beige foam. The aroma is overall malty, not extremely powerful, but quite nice with notes of caramel and nuts. Light roastiness. The flavour has a medium sweetness, nice bready malts with again caramel notes and some hops in the end. Light to medium body, watery texture, average/lively carbonation, short/medium finish with light bitterness. Very drinkable, but too thin body for my taste. Worth a try. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - SEP 27, 2008
The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Week malty aroma. Tastes mild-malty, earthy-roasty. Finish fruity, like plum. Could be a bit drier. Still not bad!
