500ml bottle. Deep, thick burgundy-brown with a beige head. Fruity caramel aroma, very mellow and milkshake like. Medium bodied, with some light, watery chocolate tones. Nice and bready, very soft on the palate. Yeasty creaminess really rounds this beer out, and gives it more dimension. Love to have it fresh on tap. 500 ml bottle at Krah-Krah in Vienna. A beer than illustrates neatly the limitations to the term Dunkel. Near-black, heavily caramelled with a touch of black asphalt, but not too sweet. Bitterness virtually absence but a bit of hop aroma. A must-have in Austria. azzie (822) - Pula, CROATIA - APR 16, 2014
Bottle. Hazy, very dark mahogany liquid. Light tan dense foam. Soft carbonation. Light sweetness, medium bitterness. Coffee aroma at first, dried plum aftertaste. Very good one. EtTuCthulhu (1391) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - FEB 15, 2013
The color of the beer is a reddish brown with a thick off-white head, and the aroma is strongly of roasted chocolate malts, fig, and dough. The taste is mildly sweet and slightly umami, but the palate fuses a soft carbonation, an astringent yet abrupt finish, medium body, and a creamy texture.
