Pours clear deep brown red with decent brown head leaving some lacing on the glass. Aroma is carame, roasted malts, hay, fruits and some yeast. Flavor is roasted malts, coffe, raisins. Easily drinkable. Tart sweet and crisp on palate. Finishes bitter tart and slightly sweet. Very nice! SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - OCT 26, 2010
Draught at map room. Legit beer appearance. Awesome pour. Dark brown with a towering mountain of head. Toasty, caramel, and light chocolate aroma. Nice caramel and chocolate flavors. Low hops. Very nice balance of toasty malt and sweetness. Medium light body. Nice stuff. Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 5, 2011
Pours a deep dark ruby beer with a medium to bigger pretty vast and little lively light brown/light tan/creme head.
Smell caramel, toasted malts, sweeter herbs, some slight hints of darker fruit like prunes, figs and raisins, some oatmeal and grains. I got the idea that the smell is a tiny teeny bit withdrawn.
Taste is a very nice, smooth balanced and pretty full tasting mix of caramel, toasted grains, some hints of dark fruit like raisins, herbs, grass, soft like butter, hint of something metal, hint of some (lighty toasted) nuts. A nice bitterness and a nicely balanced mix of darker ingredients.
Medium bitter, herby, dark fruits and toasted grains in the aftertaste.
Low carbo, soft light tingly mouthfeel, medium to a lightly bit fuller body and a light watery/creamy texture.
Nice brew. Gregis (1281) - Stilwell, Kansas, USA - DEC 28, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2011 Liter at Grunauer in KCMO. Pours a deep mahogany with a sizable, creamy, beige head. The nose is of clean toasty malt with some caramel and faint cocoa in there. Light-bodied and soft with an almost roasty, slightly drying finish. The flavor is of clean toasty caramel malt, some toffee and a touch of dark roast coffee in the finish. This is one of the tastier dunkels that I have sampled to date. Suggested by our server, Mark. Very good stuff, and a great compliment to my meal. dwaggs2 (1297) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Bottle. Poured a black almost black color with a smaller tanish of white head. Aroma was lots of yeast, earthy, fruits, and malts. Weird bready flavor with hops and caramel in the finish. Weird flavor but was very good. A great beer.

Pours a clear, deep brown with a yellowish-tan head that dissipates quickly, leaving little lacing. Lots of things going on in the aroma, especially as the beer warms a bit. Bready Munich malt, chocolate, molasses, nutty and a strong sweet smell.
Tatse: The first thing that comes to mind is that this is not a Munich Dunkel style. There’s some rye malt character there with a weaker hop profile, much like a Euro-style Dark Lager. Whether it fits the Munich Dunkel taste profile exactly or not, this is an awesome beer, in my opinion! Grainy, malty, bready flavors with hints of dark chocolate, caramel, brown sugar and ripe fruity flavors. Yummy! Medium bodied with a light-to-medium carbonation level, making it silky smooth. No alcohol warmth detected.
Overall, this was a great beer for a great price! I paid $2.39 for a single 500 ml bottle. I will definitely buy this one again. IlBevitorediLA (452) - ITALY - JAN 14, 2013
Aroma maltato, caramellato. Colore marrone con un bel cappello di schiuma persistente. L’assalto al palato è dominato dal malto, supportato da una dose leggera di luppolatura. Una birra caramellata e dolce come ci si aspetterebbe da una Dunkel. Un buona bevuta. Lukardo (127) - CROATIA - JAN 8, 2014
Dark brown/black color. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel. Flavor of slight roasted sweet malt. Soft carbonation. Quite nice beer. unclemike (3170) - Junction City Kansas, Kansas, USA - MAR 20, 2014
Nice, sweetish aroma. Very dark brown colour, stable light brown head. Very flavourful. Very roasted and a bit sweet. Liquorice, sweet caramel flavours. Mouthfeel is nice. worldbeertaste (1806) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 14, 2014
What is nice about this beer is that it is readily available almost anywhere in Austria. Super easy to drink and sweet. Clear brownish red with a medium beige lasting lacy head. Smells of roast, dark malt, caramel and herbal hops. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Nice taste of nut, dark malt with caramel sweetness and a bit of a roast bitter finish. Elements of raisins and dark fruit. A excellent Dunkel
