TBone (18054) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 9, 2014
Bottle at SBWF2014. Deep amber color, small white head. Aroma has caramel, woody notes. Light-bodied. Caramel, light woody hoppyness. Simple.

ManVsBeer (10927) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2014
Cask @ West Riding Rooms, Dewsbury. Slightly hazed reddish-brown, but more red with a thick frothy head. With its carbonation it feels a little lager like, although it’s slightly more ’ale’ in its texture. Its chocolate is mostly evident in its aroma, although it’s there in small quantities in its taste.

Stuu666 (14563) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 6, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours dark amber, dry bitter taste, some sweet toffee and caramel.

Scopey (15471) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2014
Bottle at Taps beer bar, KL. It pours deep red with a small off-white head. The nose is toasty, earth, caramel, dried fruits, light spice, wood and resin. The taste is crisp, malt-driven, dark fruits, toasty, caramel, cherry cola, decent bitterness, resin, light pepper with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Bitterness carries the malt through, but it is still a bitter sticky on the mouth-feel. Alright.

leaparsons (10700) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2014
Bottle. Amber copper with a medium foam. Aromas are burnt toffee with earthy, woody notes and red berries. Bubblegum with floral aspects and brown sugar. Flavours are sweet, chewy toffee with a solid piney bitterness. Pithy and spicy with red berries. Some plastic and black tea. Pretty good overall.

Bottle from Rehills Newcastle at home. Another success from Hitachino - complex flavours but deceptively drinkable.

Brentv (682) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 23, 2014
From a bottle in Tokyo, pours dark amber chestnut color with a slight white head. Aroma of fruit and toffee. Taste is fruit, toffee, very slightly bitter, and slightly bitter on the finish, too. Almost no lacing. Medium mouthfeel, smooth, and nice carbonation. A very nice beer and a pleasure to drink. Worth seeking out again.
