Brentv (683) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 23, 2014
From a bottle in Tokyo, pours dark amber chestnut color with a slight white head. Aroma of fruit and toffee. Taste is fruit, toffee, very slightly bitter, and slightly bitter on the finish, too. Almost no lacing. Medium mouthfeel, smooth, and nice carbonation. A very nice beer and a pleasure to drink. Worth seeking out again.

Westkyoto77 (640) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 11, 2013
Bottle. Sweet aromas of fruity hops. Straight from the bottle, so I couldn't judge the look, but it had a velvety mouthfeel and good carbonation. Really quite fruity, with berries, toffee and cream over a nice malty base. A delight. Solid as ever, Hitachino.

RichardGretton (4784) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2013
Bottle. Strong coloured amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is quite dry with a hint of bitterness, the flavour is very bitter (rather like an IPA) and refreshingly dry with a hint of spice. Overall a nice strongly bitter beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep plum aroma. Caramel malt, peach, floral hops, bittersweet finish. Elegant and well-rounded amber ale with quite a Belgian character.

330ml bottle. Very nice, clear, ruby reddish dark amber colour with average, frothy, minimally lacing, off-white head. Piney herbal hoppy aroma, caramel malty background with a nuttily touch. Taste is minimally sweet caramel malty with a nuttily touch, piney, and herbal hoppy overtones, a fruity touch of cherries.
