COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

RedHaze (371) - Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA - SEP 23, 2007
12oz bottle, brand new to Omaha. Pours a deep black, with only the slightest hints of ruby peeking through the edges. The head peeks at a quarter of an inch, and fades quickly to a wispy swirling head, leaving behind a thin webbing of lace. Smell; the espresso really comes through right away. Very roasty, alomst charred coffee at first, but then fades a little to some chocolate and molasses. Taste; as with the aroma the coffee hits right away, and for a litle while it’s hard to pick out the other flavors. As it warms though the coffee fades just enough to get some chocolate, molasses and raisins. The finish is all bitter dark roasted malts and coffee beans. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a light smooth carbonation, and the drinkability is good.

On bottle @Ølfred - Aarhus Streetfood Pours black, with light brown foam. Scent of chocolate, not very coffee like, more chocolaty, intense despite the low abv.

sarauckelman (542) - Durham, Durham, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2017
Opaque black with dark tan head. There’s something in the aroma that doesn’t quite smell right -- a bit fruity, a bit molasssey? -- in addition to the expected coffee smell. Very thick, but clears out of the mouth quickly. A bit bitter. Many layers of flavor.

Pours black. Ring of head. Has a lot of legs when swirled. Texture is oily, silky, full. Great texture. Lots of very good stoutyness. :)

Nagy, tartós hab, egészen sötétbarna szín. Kávés, csokis, pörköltmalátás, aszaltgyümölcsös illat. Csokis, kávés, aszaltgyümölcsös ízvilág, némi kakaóporossággal. Testes, közepesen szénsavas, erős pörkölt keserűvel. Finom, jó arányokkal rendelkező sör.

ERB92 (753) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 12, 2017
Aroma of coffee, chocolate, ash, smoke, licorice and soy sauce. Black with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Full body with a average carbonation. Overall this is a brilliant Stout. Very nicely balanced between notes of sweet chocolate and bitter coffee, without being to sweet nor to bitter.

3.5
MarcoBasile (446) - DENMARK - JUN 8, 2017
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, toffee, dark roasted malts and bitter coffee beans. Taste is rather sweet and sugary. Brown sugar. Little roastiness, from dark roasted malts. Balance is kinda off. Too much sweet and not enough bitter. Medium body, Watery to oily texture, soft carbonation

3.9
vipinvelp (4471) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 3, 2017
Clear black, dark brown lacing foam head. Great bitter coffee aroma and taste. Chocolate notes. A fine beer. (Velp 201706)
