Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

minimal tan head, dark brown to black body. a very tempting aroma for a coffee appreciator such as myself. And the bitter is unrivaled among stouts. I’ve not had a stout this well balanced, and with such a pleasant hoppiness in a while. I had the opportunity to visit this brewery this summer, and I was delighted to find their winter seasonal available at my local beer store when after I returned to the US. Yippee!

Celebrant la Diada del 11 de setembre. WE WANT TO VOTE! Freedom for Catalonia! Cafè ben compensat... potser li falta una mica de cos.

Bottle. Dark brown to black color. Brown foamy head. Almost opaque with a clear ruby highlight note. Refreshing aroma. Some coffee notes but they are faint. Dark chocolate, roasted malt, low dark fruit. Flavor is bitter, roasted. Medium full body. Dark fruit notes in the flavor. Coffee flavor is evident but again faded.

W aromacie głównie kawa zbożowa. W smaku kawa zbożowa, espresso, lekka paloność. Średnio nagazowane, mało intensywne. Alkohol dobrze zakamuflowany. Całkiem okazale się prezentuje. W porządku.

Bottle. Deep brown to black as expected. Aroma: roast, coffee, chocolate. Medium body. Taste: mefium dry, roasty. Notable coffee. Dust. Must. Light bitterness. Must be somewhat infected.

Aus der Flasche am 2016-11 getrunken. Kalter Kaffee aber echt lecker und schön dichtes Aroma. Süffiges Teil. Fein, Fein weiter so.

On bottle @Ølfred - Aarhus Streetfood Pours black, with light brown foam. Scent of chocolate, not very coffee like, more chocolaty, intense despite the low abv.

Opaque black with dark tan head. There’s something in the aroma that doesn’t quite smell right -- a bit fruity, a bit molasssey? -- in addition to the expected coffee smell. Very thick, but clears out of the mouth quickly. A bit bitter. Many layers of flavor.

uckelman (813) - Durham, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2017
Pours black. Ring of head. Has a lot of legs when swirled. Texture is oily, silky, full. Great texture. Lots of very good stoutyness. :)
