Umeshu aroma, caramel. Rich malt flavor, deep plum, floral hops, touch of sake, sour finish. Great ale with a true Japanese character.

Bottle. Pours gorgeous ruby amber and opaque with light orange hue and a medium tan foam subsiding to a thin rim. Scent is medium dense notes of orange zest, light caramel, and wood resin. Taste is lovely old ale with medium notes of caramel and dark fruit. Finish is slightly dry at about 30 IBU. Great.

Bottle from estucerveza, Spain. Color is gold to orange to brown. Head is thin persistent and beige. Aroma is pine, resin, hops, caramel. Taste is medium bitter, light sweet. Body is medium, finish is medium long and medium dry. Flavour is caramel, quince, light cheese, hops, bread. Old school but very drinkable.

330ml bottle (BB 2015). Pours hazy reddish amber, big yellowish-white sticky head stays. Fruits, sweetness, wood, resin, raisins, bread, sweet barley in aroma. Hops are totally gone. Taste is bittersweet, barleywine-ish, raisins, woody. Totally different after 2 years ageing in bottle. Medium bodied, oily texture, smooth carbo. Very interesting, I like it, its not IPA after 2 years anymore.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Copper-red color with particles floating in it. Rocky off white head with reasonable retention. Aromas: sweet, sweet fruit. Retronasal its fruity, light bitter, light wood. Flavor is moderate sweet with light bitterness and a touch of wood. Medium bodied. Finishes a bit bitter and woody, herbal. Interesting.

Bottle from Yamaya, 7.0%. Nice orange-gold pour, creamy off-white head, good lacing. Sweet citrus aroma, orange pulp, definite cedar oak, like a white wine. Quite enjoyable to breathe in. Has a dry malt flavour, nutty, not strong citrus except for a late tangy pithy bite. Bittering is more in the old preservative manner than offering flavour. Its oily and medium-bodied, cedar growing, a sharp almost burning bitterness over time. Reminiscent of an old stock ale, which I guess it is in concept.

From bottle at Riga Airport 25.09.16. Cloudy deep orange. Diminishing off-white head. Aroma of apricot. Taste of apricot jam, with some sweetness. Soft bitterness is pleasantly lingering on.
