I visited Japan last year to see my family. I wasn’t into craft beer then but had many Hitachino beers actually. Now I’m turning into a credit beer fanatic, I’m re-drinking them all over again. This one is okay. Not hoppy enough to my satisfaction but okay. Its pretty middle of the road.
Taster @ Mondial de la bière Paris. Notes de caramel et de fruits mûrs. Très maltée avec un final sur l’amertume. Strykzone (7357) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 20, 2017
Bottle. Darker brown and opaque. A beige head that leaves nice lacing. Fruit and malts in the aroma. Tangerine and some tropical varieties with some dark fruit. First sip brings some harshness as from a barleywine. Caramel is among the malt flavors and this tends to be quite malty. It also tastes a little hot and perhaps this should be a barleywine. Hops are minimal. Or maybe faded. colui72 (1026) - HONG KONG - JUN 2, 2017
Clear amber, medium off-white head and sticky lacing. Aroma of resin, caramel, ripe fruits. Taste is on the malty side, with nice sweet malts, caramel, a bit barleywine-ish; then some wood, ripe fruits, alcohol. Medium bodied with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel, medium bitter, long finish. Excellent. BillWyce (1086) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 6, 2017
Pours hazy orange-amber with a tight, 1-finger bone-colored head. Mild grapefruit hop aroma mixed with a wood note. Maybe some caramel too. Body is medium with just a touch of oil to it. Light astringency to the finish. Hop flavors show as notes of citrus and resin that mix at the back with a pleasant wood note. NallePalle (646) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - APR 18, 2017
Bottle, 33 cl, Budda Kahn Teppanyaki, Mall of Scandinavia. Plesant ale, not too hoppy.

Bottle. Pours gorgeous ruby amber and opaque with light orange hue and a medium tan foam subsiding to a thin rim. Scent is medium dense notes of orange zest, light caramel, and wood resin. Taste is lovely old ale with medium notes of caramel and dark fruit. Finish is slightly dry at about 30 IBU. Great. andrepintado (3401) - Lisbon, PORTUGAL - APR 14, 2017
Bottle from estucerveza, Spain. Color is gold to orange to brown. Head is thin persistent and beige. Aroma is pine, resin, hops, caramel. Taste is medium bitter, light sweet. Body is medium, finish is medium long and medium dry. Flavour is caramel, quince, light cheese, hops, bread. Old school but very drinkable. Juks (649) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 7, 2017
330ml bottle (BB 2015). Pours hazy reddish amber, big yellowish-white sticky head stays. Fruits, sweetness, wood, resin, raisins, bread, sweet barley in aroma. Hops are totally gone. Taste is bittersweet, barleywine-ish, raisins, woody. Totally different after 2 years ageing in bottle. Medium bodied, oily texture, smooth carbo. Very interesting, I like it, it’s not IPA after 2 years anymore. ForlornHope (521) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAR 5, 2017
