COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Red Rice Ale was brewed with special red rice which had been cultured in ancient times in Japan. Please enjoy the complex taste and beautiful natural color. The ale has complex Sake like flavours with a hint of strawberry in the nose and palate.

This beer is interesting. I don’t even think the world has a name for the color it pours. Kind of a cloudy blood-orangey hue. Looks weird. Smells okay, not really pungent. Tastes like... not very obvious flavor, but what the palate does pick up is something I have never tasted before, which is cool. It is bready with a good bitter backbone. Some toffee notes, but not really sweet. Although, pretty subtle, this is kind of a cool, original beer. Worth a go at at least once.

12oz bottle consumed at Caphe Banh Mi in Alexandria VA. Poured a semi-ruby red color with a little pink hue. Fluffy, white head. Aroma was sweet malts, light grain. Light cherry blossom. Flavor was light sweet citrus notes. Nothing over the top. Drinkable for what it is and what i was eating.

Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. The aroma is mellow. Its balanced between caramel, cherry, bread, with mild traces of earthy malts and grassy hops. The taste is sweet, very dry, and has a very subtle bitterness. A heavy strawberry flavor stands out here, but its odd that it really isnt fruity. I think I do get a slight sake taste, somewhat grassy, cola, a bit of oak, hints of licorice. Most everything here is very subtle, but Im digging it. Short strawberry aftertaste. Medium bodied, smooth in texture, and average in carbonation. Unusual. I liked it.

I don’t know what it was happening with my bottle but it was not drinkable and probably infected, I don’t really have others explanations. The color is orange/red transparent, regular carbonation, thin foam. The taste had notes of rotten mushrooms, notes of rice, taste of turpentine, really bad sensation at the palate, some notes of strawberries at the final but it was not a good experience.

Copenhagen 29/4 2017. 33 cl bottle from Mad & Vin. A very red Owl on the label which seems to be appropriate when considering the name. Seems that this beer is "an Ale brewed with Red Rice". Pours hazy amber with white head. No lacing. Aroma is sweetish. Caramel, strawberry with light notes of humid forest. Medium carbonation and watery palate. Flavor is sweetish but pleasant. Sweet malt. Light bitterness but with a little sourness. Aftertaste of caramel. I’m not usually into sweet beers - but this one is actually quite good - although a bit thin.

Wonderful ale, full of caramel, red berries (especially strawberries and wild strawberries) and a long and tasty aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Erfrischend
