This Red Rice Ale was brewed with special red rice which had been cultured in ancient times in Japan. Please enjoy the complex taste and beautiful natural color. The ale has complex Sake like flavours with a hint of strawberry in the nose and palate.

THOUGHTS: Complex, but in a fairly subtle way. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it had a lot of complexity for a beer that was full of lighter flavors that aren’t necessarily all that complex. Hid alcohol fairly well among such light flavors. I was surprised that it was quite sour. Great balance with sweetness, sourness and acidity. But complex doesn’t always mean great. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, orangey gold with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma had light cereal; moderate fruity, dusty and musty yeast; pear; peach, pineapple; a little flora; lemon; lemon rind; apricot, and slightly sour fruit. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, sour and acidic, and slightly bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet and bitter, and moderately sour and acidic with a surprisingly long duration for all the the light flavors. There was light fruits, light citrus, pear, peach, green grape, lemon, apricot, maybe a little pineapple, a little citrus rind, pineapple near the edge where it is bitter; yeast; sour fruit; a little honey; and duty and musty yeast. The light to medium and dry body was made to feel even lighter by fizzy carbonation and a dry and slightly alcoholic finish.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2017 Like this beer very much. Not as much citrus as the white ale, but still very crisp.

Orange cloudy beer, standard carbonation, white head that dissipates quickly. At nose it has several caramel notes from the malt. The flavor is bitter sweet with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste.

sweet, some red berries, nice reddish color, light sour, dry, tasty, some rhubarb, nice brew

Backlog. Bottle. Aroma of malts and rice, hints of caramel, also some sweetish and somewhat strange notes of undefined fruit. The flavour has a sweet mix of malts and some strange undefined fruit again, low bitterness, alcohol is noticeable. Some hops in the aftertaste

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2017 Very sweet beer using ancient rice. Because it smells good, it is easy to drink, alcohol is 7%

roasty, earthy, smoke, red, cloudy, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, medium body, soft carbonation, bitter.

Ysok02 (1724) - Mons, BELGIUM - AUG 18, 2017
Robe rubis, fine mousse. Nez qui allie des notes de riz grillé, de céréales, de malt et de fruits. Bouche à l’attaque acidulée, de la fraîcheur, une belle bulle et une finale maltée et torréfiée. Une belle bière pour accompagner les sushis.
