330ml brown bottle. Initial pour was disapointingly clear, but this bottle was heavily sedimented. After a good rousing the appearance changes for the better, deeper golden shade and suitably hazy for the style. It holds a small white cap with very modest lacing. Nose has big clove, lemon, spice and banana. Taste has a wheat malt base, lemon and clove. Dry finish, lingering wheat and trace spicy yeast. Light body, average carbonation. Fairly typical weizen, decent overall.
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2017 Pours hazy yellow orange with a large frothy white head. Aroma of light malts, wheat, yeast, bubblegum. Taste is moderate sweet, light citrus, light brett, yeasty, more bubblegum. Medium body, frothy carb, sweetish wheaty finish Luneylane (233) - Taipei City, TAIWAN - OCT 29, 2017
A bottle from Jason's near NCCU, drunk at home. Aroma: smells rather sour. Appearance: hazy, light amber, minimal lacing. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, average carbonation, abrupt astringent finish. Taste: lightly sweet, but something metallic lingers to spoil it. Not a wheat beer as I know, could it be a bad bottle? oobawa (1738) - Tennessee, USA - OCT 4, 2017
Starts out light and pilsner-ish, then quickly develops clove and vanilla notes, all fine and dandy for a hefeweizen. But a thick, honey-tinged heaviness overtakes the middle, growing cloy and musty towards the back end. Finishes with a clingy sweetness mixed with off-putting fruit esters. Decent pour, super-sweet nose, and a good feel, but the sweetness is really hard to bear. douglas88 (9630) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 28, 2017
On tap in Tokyo. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. A nose of clove and banana. The flavor is sweet lemon, banana and clove. Very good. Scipio (1215) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - JUN 2, 2017
Pours a golden that is a bit hazy, with a minimal white head. The aroma is pretty subdued, but what you get is similar to what you expect from this style. Wheat, banana, spices, and yeast. The taste is extremely dry with a hint of sweetness. There really isn’t a whole lot of flavor here. You are given a short burst of wheat, banana, bread, and cereal. Afterwards is neutral and without any aftertaste really. Light to medium in body, a little sticky in texture, and some fizzy carbonation. After what I’ve had from Hitachino so far, I’m disappointed with this one.

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow-gold, finger of nice white foam. Really mellow spicy ester aroma, toasty malt. Minerally flavour, banana, wheat, a hint of toasted marshmallow. Very dry compared to most weizens, light peppery finish. Prickly carbonation, medium body, moderate bitterness. Lacks the fullness of flavour they usually offer, but goes down ok. sinfull (1800) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - SEP 1, 2016
Cloudy, yellow color . Big white head. Aroma of wheat malt , banana and clove . Malt, fruits and yeasts in taste. Over carbonated in my opinion .
